Escape with your loved one to this pretty cottage that’s steeped in history and boasts many traditional features. Set among luscious greenery with half an acre of garden to explore, this is a fantastic spot for nature lovers and active adventurers.

Park up in the private parking space and head inside this period property. You will immediately be welcomed into the lounge which has an original slate flooring and a warming wood burner. Kick back and relax on the sumptuous sofa after busy days exploring. Beyond this is a kitchen/diner set beneath a beamed ceiling and well-equipped for cooking, cleaning and eating together. There is also a sofa here for curling up with a good book. When you are ready for some shuteye, head through to the bedroom which contains a king-size bed and makes use of a pleasant bathroom. Outdoors is a private seating area for dining alfresco, and a further riverside garden which is shared with the neighbouring property.

Head off on foot from the doorstep through the garden and beyond into the woodland, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, made up of gorges and waterfalls. For amenities, you can take a trip to the village of Corris (2.5 miles), while you are there you can spend a day at the interesting King Arthur’s Labyrinth, underground caves revealing some Welsh lore. Pack a picnic and enjoy a day at the seaside in the quaint village of Aberdyfi (17 miles) or the bustling resort of Barmouth (22 miles).
