Characterful, luxurious and ideally located in the green Gloucestershire countryside, this rural stone cottage is perfect for a restful break for four guests and two canine companions. Spend quality time with your loved ones in the elegant open-plan living space with chic farmhouse decor or in the pretty garden with a pond. Nearby, you’ll have the walking trails of the Wye Valley, quaint market towns and a handful of historic attractions.
Step inside and find yourself in the airy, white, grey and wooden open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Exposed metal joists and a stone feature wall contrast with the cosy, fluffy blankets and textured rugs. In the centre of the room is a rustic painted wooden dining table set with four chairs. Adjacent is a relaxed seating area with a rattan sofa. Move through to the kitchen area to find a farmhouse-style fitted one-wall kitchen and a breakfast bar at the rustic wooden workbench. Continue into the airy neutral-toned lounge with garden views through the French doors. Opposite the Smart TV are two comfortable sofas and an armchair. Upstairs are two boutique-style double bedrooms and a contemporary shower room with a double walk-in shower. Completing the interior is a first-floor occasional bedroom with a daybed and French doors opening onto a balcony. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed garden with a pond and furniture on the patio. There is private parking for two cars.
While staying in the quiet hamlet of Ellwood, you’ll be just 2 miles from the Wye Valley National Landscape. Here you can have a picnic by the River Wye (4 miles), visit the Cleddon Shoots waterfall (6 miles) and see the dramatic ruins of Tintern Abbey (9 miles). Spend an afternoon in the village of Symonds Yat (10 miles) and wander through the magical Puzzle Wood (1 mile).
