Set between the island of Anglesey and Snowdonia National Park, this countryside cottage is perfect for a romantic nature getaway for two in North Wales. As well as cosy interiors with a balance of traditional country-style decor and contemporary finishes, outside is a garden with a pond.

Step inside and head into the homely lounge with a country house feel from the earthy tones and nature-themed decor throughout. Two comfortable sofas sit opposite a Smart TV and an inglenook fireplace with wood-burning-effect electric fire. Continue into the bright, neutral-toned kitchen to find a classy, fitted ‘L’-shaped unit with granite countertops. Adjacent is a sophisticated, contemporary dining set for two. Climb the stairs to reach a characterful bedroom in the eaves of the cottage, with a slanted, wooden-beamed ceiling. To one side of this space is a dressing area with two day chairs. Beyond the king-size bed with a boutique-style headboard is a minimalistic spa-like en-suite bathroom. Outside, you’ll find a private patio with furniture and a BBQ. You can also enjoy three acres of grounds, shared with the property owner, which contains a small lake. There is private parking for two cars.

During your stay on the outskirts of Llandwrog village, you’ll be just 1 mile from the local pub, 1 mile from the historic grounds of Parc Glynllifon and just 2.5 miles from Dinas Dinlle Beach. Head to the windswept island of Anglesey to visit the pine forest-backed beach of Traeth Llanddwyn (24 miles). You could also book a boat tour from Beaumaris (17 miles) to Puffin Island. On the mainland, you’ll be 7 miles from the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Enjoy a picnic beside Llyn Peris lake after visiting the 13th-century Dolbadarn Castle (12 miles) or hike to the summit of Mount Snowdon (20 miles).

Lovely peaceful cottage within a short drive to local beaches and Caernarfon. A very good community pub 15 minutes walk away. Lots of beautiful coastal walks nearby and the guest Netflix was much appreciated! Thank you.

The cottage was warm ,comfortable and very clean The bathroom is beautiful but it maybe the bath could be an issue for someone with mobility issues..It is well placed to visit either the coast or to travel further into Snowdonia. We were very lucky with the weather so made good use of the outdoor seating area which is in the sun for most of the dayRead more. Hide

Had a lovely stay at Heron's Roost, very comfortable and everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed wandering in the garden, and enjoyed eating the eggs and other goodies left for us by Martin. Great location for exploring Snowdonia, we love mountain walking, and enjoyed a couple of walks from Rhyd Ddu which is very close. Note that there is no showeRead morer, just a bath with a shower attachment. Perfectly adequate but not great if you have mobility issues. Hide

Well placed to visit walks and beaches with shops etc not far away in nearest town. Lack of direct sunlight in cottage a downside however although a pleasant outside seating area did compensate to catch the sun.Very helpful onsite owner and good welcoming touches of fresh eggs and wine!
