Mountain hiking is popular in this part of Wales with Sugar Loaf and the Black Mountain range close by (0.5 miles and 12 miles respectively). If you don’t feel like cooking after a lengthy walk, there’s a welcoming country pub just 300 metres away, and if you feel the need for some fine dining, Llanddewi Skirrid (8 miles) has a Michelin-starred inn.
