Bursting with unique original features and homely touches everywhere you look, this lovingly restored Grade II-listed 19th-century former police station is poised at the heart of the walking haven of Corwen. If you can leave behind the games room and hot tub, the surrounding Berwyn Mountains and Heritage Railway await to be explored.

At the end of a day’s adventure, pass through the original barred gate and follow the underfloor heating into the light and bright lounge/diner. Fire up the wood burner to keep toes toasty as you hunker down on the plush sofa for the ultimate family film night in front of the Smart TV or plan tomorrow’s adventure seated around the dining table. Tame the growl of hungry tummies by whipping up a feast in the contemporary kitchen, giving you plenty of energy to enjoy a game of table football in the games room. There are four fabulous king-size bedrooms, (two of which can be made as twins on request), each featuring a sumptuous colour palette that ensures peaceful rest. Outside, soak up the peaceful ambience by slipping into the hot tub with a glass of something chilled or dining alfresco in the courtyard.

Nestled at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains where the River Dee valley meets the Vale of Edeyrnion, the historic village of Corwen offers a range of local shops and restaurants and many scenic forest roads perfect for cycling, walking and horse riding. On the outskirts of Corwen, those with a nose for nature can explore the renowned Clocaenog Forest (9 miles) to spot glimpses of the rare red squirrel. Walk or cycle the trails from the town, including Pen Y Pigyn, and into the Berwyn Mountains or hop aboard the Llangollen Railway from Corwen to travel through the breathtaking Dee Valley.

This is fabulous property in a gem of a little town. It was a fantastic base to explore North Wales from and a touch of luxury to return to each day. The courtyard garden was very private and we made full use of the hot tub (super clean and checked regularly by the ownwer) We got a very warm welcome in the pubs, there was a bakery, butchers and coRead morenvenience store and an amazing Indian takeaway close by. The owner was very we!coming, took pride in the property and provided lots of information/maps within the property to make it easy to plan our stay. He ensured an item left behind was safely returned to us! Hide

Lovely property, lots of character with some of the old police station features retained. Even though in the centre of Corwen the high walls around the garden make it feel private. Town centre is on the door step, so pub, takeaways, small supermarkets, cafe's and a great bakery all within a few minutes walk. Would happily stay again.

Parking for two was a huge advantage.on arrival we were met by Ian.a very pleasant man he is who showed us around the old police station and explained how to work the hottub etc. The courtyard is very private with high walls and ample seating area for outside dining etc The kitchen is like brand new and well equipped. Having s utility room and gaRead moremes room was a bonus.there is a downstairs walk in shower room which is ideal for when you need the toilet and don't want to go upstairs or if you want a shower after being in the hot tub. Upstairs is another shower (cubicle) and toilet.also the upstairs has a bath with shower over it so in total the property has three toilets and three showers so you'll never be waiting to use either.the beds are super comfy, some hard for those who like your bed that way and some soft so a nice mixture, all good quality beds may I add.pillows are often rubbish in holiday lets but not here.they are lush.the living room is very large and again expense has not been spared on furnishings.the three settees are all high quality and comfy.the huge dining table meant eight people would be able to eat at the same time. Location is superb.2 minute walk from a mini supermarket.1 minute from a fish & chip shop, cafes and various village shops. Hide

Beautiful cottage with lots of original features within walking distance of local shops. The old exercise yard was very private and the hot tub was great and very well maintained. Ian met us on arrival and was very helpful. I found the sprung mattress quite uncomfortable being used to memory foam. As a family we love to cook and would have appreciaRead moreted a few more pots and pans. A starter pack with local produce would have added value and enhanced our stay. Hide

EXCELLENT! The COP was an amazing find for our group of four hikers. The history of the structure is front and center, from the heavy iron barred doors and heavy wooden cell doors left in place, to the original exercise yard (the hot tub garden). This was our eighth such trip in the past ten years and although we have stayed in very good cottages eRead morevery time, the COP is number one. Last of all, Ian, the host, is a great source of local info and touring ideas, and just an all-round nice guy. Hide

A beautiful, historic and interesting building in a great location for exploring the wider area. Corwen is a nice town which has all the essentials in terms of places to buy provisions and places to eat/drink. The Old Police Station is beautifully presented and quiet (thanks to good secondary glazing) notwithstanding its position on the main road.
