Soak up the water views of Menai Strait, the channel that separates Anglesey from mainland Gwynedd, while staying in this traditional cottage in an elevated position in Y Felinheli. This North Wales property is filled with natural light through its extensive glass panelling on the ground floor and boasts a laid-back coastal feel with wooden-beamed ceilings and white-washed stone walls. Take your family and four-legged friend to explore the nearby castles, coastline and island of Anglesey.

As you arrive, you’ll be won over by the stone exterior decorated with shrubbery and blooms. Step inside to appreciate the cosy cottage feel with dark beamed ceilings, antique-style furnishings, a wood burner effect electric fire and coastal-themed decor in the lounge. Continue into the bright, neutral-toned kitchen with a homely feel and shaker-style cupboards. After cooking a feast, gather with your guests in the chic dining area with nautical-themed decor. Additional seating can be found in the conservatory, which offers the best sea views. Upstairs is a family bathroom and two bedrooms – a double with an en-suite and a bunk bedroom. Outside, you will find a terrace with a BBQ and garden furniture.

Start your day with a dog walk around the village of Y Felinheli and sniff out the local eateries, gym and marina (all within 1 mile). Visit the historic Caernarfon Castle (4 miles) and hop on a steam train at the Welsh Highland Railway (5 miles). Cross the Britannia Bridge to reach the island of Anglesey (4 miles) and explore the quaint towns, like Beaumaris (8.5 miles), or visit the national trust sites. Take Fido for a splash on the golden sands of Traeth Llanddwyn (15.5 miles).

Fabulously cosy and beautifully maintained cottage filled with many quirky items. Obviously loved by the owners. Amazing views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey from the back decking. Great location for visiting the many attractions of North Wales. Would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely , cosy cottage with a beautiful view ! Well equipped and comfortable . Very clean with lots of games , books , cd player and toys for kids. Definitely will be back for a bit longer next time.

The cottage is in a beautiful location with great views over the Menai strait. It is very comfortable and well equipped. It is only a short drive to Bangor or Caernarfon and there's a convenience store a short walk away. I would mention that it may not be suitable for anyone who can't manage steps, as there are several steps down from the street toRead more the front door and step down from the lounge to the conservatory. Parking is also a little tight. Having said that, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who can manage the steps. Hide

Bryn Afon is a beautiful, old cottage and very tastefully decorated by Patricia and her husband. It is in a gorgeous location with lovely views of Anglesey and the menus straights. The cottage has everything you will need and includes all mod cons. There are a few shops near by but it is only a short drive to various supermarkets. We visited lots oRead moref beaches including Abergele, Pensarn, Dinas Dinelle and a few more. It is so relaxing here and we will definitely return. Hide

Location is lovely and the view from conservatory is breathtaking. Two bathrooms very handy tho en-suite we later found out had issues the previous few weeks. We only put tissue paper down but couldn't use this bathroom half way through holiday.

Homely characterful cottage that was very comfortable and well equipped. Stunning views of Anglesea across the Menai straits. Good communication channels with caring owner. Perfectly situated for exploring Anglesea and Snowdonia national park. We were an older couple holidaying on our own, however , the spare room was clearly perfect for children -Read more with its bunk beds and bookshelves full of lovely childrens books. A lovely quirky cottage in an ideal location for exploring Anglesey and the North Wales coast. The views are stunning. We have just stayed at this beautiful cottage and everything was perfect. The view was amazing with a little terraced garden packed full of shrubs. Even after a week here we were still seeing pictures and ornaments we had missed. Parking was easy being virtually outside the door.

A real home from home. Bryn Afon is comfortable, well equipped, full of character, curios and artefacts. We enjoyed Sunday lunch at Y Garddfon, pizzas from Torna A Surriento and Chinese food at Fu's Caernarfon. The coastal walk towards Bangor is a favourite. This time we also crossed to Moel Y Don and walked the coast path towards Caernarfon. Aber Read moreFalls, Plas Newydd and Newborough Warren were further highlights. This is a really lovely cottage. The owners use it and love it, and it shows in the attention to detail in the decor and equipment provided. It's in a perfect location for exploring North Wales - so easy to get to Anglesey, Llyn and Snowdonia.
