We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the retiring rooms in the Judge's Lodgings. Having already visited the museum on a previous visit to Presteigne, we were keen to try out the newly renovated apartments in this historic building. The apartment was clean and inviting, having been nicely decorated, and managed to feel modern while maintaining Read morevarious characterful (some listed) features. The bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed our very quiet nights sleep in this relaxing town. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, although we didn't get a chance to use it much as there are plenty of places to eat out in Presteigne. On one night we went to Daphne's for some incredible must-try pizzas, and on another night we had some modern small plates at Crockett's. There is also a food market that runs monthly, which coincided nicely with our visit, where we bought some local honey plus bread and bacon for our stay. Presteigne is a lovely town to stroll around, with plenty to do in the surrounding area too. Of course visiting the Judge's Lodgings museum is a must when you are staying here. We also visited a local vineyard (Whinyard Rocks) who had an open day while we were here, and we'd recommend the trip out there if you are into your wine. Highly recommend! Hide
