This traditional, countryside cottage with characterful features, a games room and a garden is perfect for a dog-friendly group getaway for up to seven guests. Nature lovers, adventure-seekers and history enthusiasts can enjoy the surrounding protected areas, landmarks and walking trails.

Inside this two-storey property, you’ll find an airy, neutral-toned open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with wooden furnishings and a stone floor. In the centre of the farmhouse-style room is a wooden dining table for six, beside a large Rayburn oven. Adjacent is a one-wall fitted kitchen unit with wooden cabinets and granite countertops. On the opposite side of the room is a sofa. Continue into the main lounge with a wooden beamed ceiling, an exposed stone feature wall and half-height wooden panelling on the walls. Surrounding an oil-fired burner and TV with an Xbox 360 are two sofas and two armchairs. Also on the ground floor is a spacious utility room, a games room with pool and darts, plus a sunny garden room. Climb the stairs to reach a family bathroom and four bedrooms in the eaves of the property – a twin room leading to a king-size room, one double and one single room. Outside is an enclosed garden with furniture and a BBQ. There is private parking for three cars and secure bike storage.

While staying on a working farm in Llanafan-fawr village, you’ll be just 8.5 miles from the charming Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Head into the sweeping Elan Valley (12.5 miles) for a stroll around the reservoirs and dams or for some mountain biking. Pack a picnic and visit the Cors Y Llyn National Nature Reserve (8 miles) or venture into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape (26.5 miles). Also nearby is the Wyeside Arts Centre (9 miles).

This was a a lovely stay! We were there for the heatwave so we're really grateful for the rooms (especially living room) staying cool. The indoor games room also gave us things to do while it was too hot outside. Close by, you have great walks and pretty towns - we walked an Llandrindod Wells lake and in Elan valley but there is lots more around toRead moreo! Was too hot to explore it all. Would definitely recommend and go back. Lots of facilities so we had everything we needed there, including a couple of bbqs. It was my nephews first holiday (6 months old) and he loved it!
