This coastal retreat for families and couples is in the charming village of Llwyngwril, on the edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). It’s the perfect base for those seeking a holiday that combines traditional beach days with exhilarating mountain adventures. From the cottage, it’s easy to enjoy day trips to Aberdovey/Aberdyfi, Fairbourne, Corris, and Machynlleth (all within 15 miles). In the evenings, relax in the pretty garden or head down to the beach to watch the sun set.

The characterful period property is bursting with charm, and is decorated and furnished in a style to complement the original features. The cosy lounge is a real joy to relax in after a day of adventure, with its plush sofas to sink into and a roaring wood burner for those chilly nights. Rustle up delicious feasts in the kitchen, which overlooks the garden, and come together in the formal dining room for dinner parties and family celebrations. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms – a double and a twin – and a stylish family bathroom. Outside, relax in the enclosed cottage garden and listen to the gentle sound of the nearby stream and watch the local wildlife. There is outdoor furniture for al fresco dining, and a lawn where children and four-legged visitors can play.

Llwyngwril is a haven for walkers, with a myriad of hill tracks and woodland trails branching away from the village. Further afield, you’ll find exhilarating routes in Eryri National Park, such as Cadair Idris (16.5 miles) and Dolgoch Fall (10 miles). Just 300 metres from the village is a shingle beach, where you can enjoy a picnic or a spot of rock pooling. The beach is also renowned for its spectacular sunsets. First point to note is steps to access back door and the kitchen, stairs are steep and bannister rail is low, its not mobility friendly and this isnt in the cottage description. Cottage is cosy albeit very much in need of some TLC. We had a significant issue with the cleanliness but this was dealt with immediately to our satisfaction. Lots of booksRead more, DVDS & games, plenty of seating. Kitchen/bathroom are rooms and appliances only - youll need to take everything else with you. Good info folder. Hide

Lots to like about this cottage. In a friendly, interesting village. Upstairs bright and airy with two good bedrooms .Hot water plentiful, efficient electric shower. Downstairs roomy with plenty of seating. Would be cosy in cooler weather. The kitchen is basic -difficult oven door, limited storage for guests own food. Garden perfect- secure with niRead morece seating area. Ideal for dogs. Parking not a problem. In short, homely rather than slick. Id be happy to return. Hide

The cottage location was in a fantastic location. It was a lovely village with a shop and pub and close to the beach. The cottage was cosy and the garden was peaceful near the river. The weather was beautiful and we spent a lot of time in the garden, enjoying the sound of the river and watching the birds. Sadly, the oven door was hard to shut and tRead morehere were no oven gloves, the oven also kept tripping the electric. We reported this to the owner and its being addressed by an electrician. Hide
