This delightful cottage is in the seaside village of Aberdovey/Aberdyfi, known for its long, sandy beach and fabulous array of water sports. The village is also a great base for keen walkers, with coastal paths within easy reach and the mountains of southern Eryri (Snowdonia) on your doorstep. The property sleeps a family of four or three adults and has a sociable, open-plan layout.

Stone steps lead to this traditional cottage, which is full of characterful original features. Inside, you’ll discover an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a striking beamed ceiling and far-reaching coastal views through the patio doors. Relax here, after a day at the beach, whipping up a tasty meal in the kitchen area to enjoy around the wooden dining table, or reclining in the comfortable chairs to watch the TV/DVD in the glow of the wood burner-effect gas fire. In summer, throw open the doors to the patio to let a gentle sea breeze drift through the cottage. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the seaside-themed bedrooms; choose from an elegant double with sea views, or a cosy bunk bedroom that would suit two children or one adult. A family bathroom completes this coastal bolthole. Immediately outside the cottage is a suntrap patio with a folding table and chairs for enjoying a morning coffee, and you’ll also have use of a private terrace, accessed via steps alongside a neighbouring property. Here, you can enjoy a picnic amongst sheltered woodland, whilst taking in the breathtaking views across the estuary and out to sea.

Aberdyfi has a long, sandy beach lined with pastel-coloured houses, and the village centre has a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries. You can try a whole host of water sports in Aberdyfi, including windsurfing and paddleboarding, and there’s also a championship golf course. Heading into Eryri National Park, you can enjoy picturesque walks at Dolgoch Falls (10 miles) or take on the mighty peaks of Cadair Idris (16.5 miles).

Delightful cottage overlooking the sea. Clean and well equipped. perfect for the two of us. Nicely furnished and decorated. Good sized main bedroom, very small bathroom however this is to be expected in a property of this type. Great water pressure (much better than ours at home). Kitchen, dining and living room area have patio doors allowing the mRead moreost of the view. Great to have included parking which is just a very short walk, the parking pass also covers other carparks which is an added bonus. Hide

Amazing views from a lovely cottage in a great location. The decking up behind the cottage is wonderful, just wished we'd had better weather to enjoy it more (maybe next time). Really appreciated the welcome gifts and parking pass. Thanks for a great week.
