This coastal bolthole on the edge of Aberdyfi/Aberdovey is the ideal base for large families and groups of friends looking to explore the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay and the breathtaking scenery of southern Snowdonia. Aberdyfi’s shops, eateries, and sandy beach are within 1 mile, and further afield is the bustling market town of Machynlleth (11 miles). After a day of exploring, sip a sundowner on your private balcony and admire the tranquil coastal views.

The bright and breezy cottage has a reverse-level layout and is decorated in a subtle coastal theme. On the ground floor you’ll find three relaxing bedrooms, along with a shower room and family bathroom. Stairs lead to the first-floor, open-plan lounge/diner, which boasts magnificent coastal vistas. Gather around the dining table for delicious, home-cooked meals, before sinking into the sumptuous sofas in the lounge area to watch the TV/DVD, or play a game from the selection provided. A separate kitchen completes the first floor. French doors open from the living space onto a gorgeous furnished balcony with views across the golf course to the sand dunes beyond. At ground level, there’s a patio with outdoor furniture, leading to a shared garden with ample space for children to play.

Aberdyfi is full of seaside charm, with cute cafes, pubs, and restaurants serving local produce and fresh seafood, as well as art galleries and independent boutiques that are perfect for picking up a little memento from your holiday. A vast, sandy beach provides the ideal spot for picnics and long walks along the shoreline, and the Wales Coast Path offers mile upon mile of hiking routes with fabulous views. Heading into Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), you’ll soon reach iconic beauty spots such as Dolgoch Falls (9 miles) and the dramatic peaks of Cadair Idris (15 miles).

So much potential but generally dirty and washing machine did not wash. A modern and bright house in a good location with an excellent kitchen. The place had been cleaned but was severely lacking in its cleanliness. The bathroom floor and bath were positively filthy, tiles were not clean. The hand rail on the stairs, dining chairs, sofa arms wRead moreere all dirty and sticky (chocolate following Easter guests?). Carpets not properly hoovered and skirting boards thick with dust. Since we were staying for 28 nights we set to cleaning. The only cleaning materials were a disposable cloth and antibacterial spray but they did a good enough job. The hoover didnt really work and left such a stale fusty smell in its wake we had to leave doors and windows open and didnt use it again! I asked in advance what the arrangements would be for clean linen and towels during our 28 night stay. I was told to leave the dirty sheets outside the door on day 14 and clean ones would be delivered. When I suggested 14 nights was too long with one set of linen I was told I could also use the owners own linen if I wanted. There was no owners linen. I washed the linen after our first week but discovered the washer didnt really work. Someone has removed the internal fins from the drum so while the drum turns and fills and empties the washing just sits motionless in the base of the drum. Next I discovered that there are no pegs to allow use of the outdoor rotary dryer. When day 14 arrived the linen left outside was not collected and no clean linen arrived. Not our best day! The balcony a beautiful sunny spot to sit had only two chairs and one (broken) table. I could go on. Yes, I know we could have complained and someone may have come round to fix things but this service should be in place for emergencies not for routine jobs that could and should be sorted before guests arrive. We did not want cleaners or repair people turning up during our stay. All of these annoyances were avoidable. Such a shame as this place has so much potential. Despite everything we had a good time and had it been clean and functioning the price was good - but I do feel future holiday makers deserve sight of our honest review. Hide

What a lovely house and location. We were there to play golf at Aberdovey GC and as the house looked right onto the 18th tee, it couldnt have been better. Everything about the house was great, clean and tidy, exactly as described and had all the essentials we needed.

I think the owners need to rethink the cleaning team they use as it wasnt great! Such a shame great location and property is good but think it could do with a freshen up!

Perfect location, lovely clean home from home, plenty of utensils, clean & crisp bed linen and towels, will highly recommend to friends & family, only rated 3 in value for money due to paying much higher purely due to being across New Year which shouldnt be such a hike, in usual rates it would be considered 5/5. We were originally going abroad but Read morehad to stay home due to ill health so wanted a closer to home break, this was perfect for escaping and excellent for position to the sea and town! Hide

Location is brilliant, you get used to train line and daughter loved seeing trains pass by. Parking okay depending on other residents parking skills. Cleaning could have being better in places but understand peek season and turn around times have be quick.
