Located on the edge of the Craig Y Cilau National Nature Reserve, this pretty stone-built cottage offers an idyllic countryside retreat for a couple plus one canine companion. Discover the historical landmarks, charming market towns and scenic walking trails in the east of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Spend your evenings dining alfresco in the garden, unwinding in the Jacuzzi-style bath or with your feet up in front of a movie.

Enter this single-storey cottage and make yourself at home in the airy open-plan lounge/diner with neutral-toned decor, chic furnishings and a glass door which leads out to the garden. On one side of the space is a sofa and an armchair in front of a Sky TV which is surrounded by matching wooden furniture. Through an archway is a round wooden dining table with four chairs. Continue into the blue and white farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden countertops offering plenty of space for preparing a candle-lit dinner. Along the hallway is a king-size bedroom and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi-style bath and a shower. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed terrace with furniture, a BBQ and storage for bikes.

During your stay down a quiet country lane in the Brecon Beacons, take your four-pawed companion for a run around the hills and woodland of Craig Y Cilau National Nature Reserve (200 metres). Head into the market town of Crickhowell (3 miles) and stroll along the River Usk before visiting the castle ruins and stopping for lunch at a local pub. Soak up panoramic views of your surroundings after an uphill slog to the top of Sugar Loaf (9 miles). History enthusiasts shouldn’t miss a trip to Clydach Gorge (7 miles).

Cant fail to be impressed with the views of the surrounding area. However. There was no mention regarding the access to this property. Extremely challenging. Vertical hill climb with sharp blind 90 degree bends and very few passing places. It wasnt an enjoyable experience going up or down. High lanes overgrown. You need a 4x4 to attempt the access.Read more Approx 1 and a half miles of torture and then an off road experience that again was not mentioned on the advert Wont be going back Hide

This quaint little cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a home from home experience. However the drive up to the property is not for the faint of heart or for those of us who own low level vehicles, 4x4's will be fine!. There are several very steep hills with hairpin bends on a narrow road on the way up towards the property and thRead moree driveway to the cottage itself is down a steep and very uneven track. Whilst we have enjoyed our break we would not return. Hide
