A striking stone barn conversion set on a working farm and enveloped by the rolling emerald landscape of the Brecon Beacons. This homely bolthole is perfect for family and friends seeking a relaxing escape with their four-pawed companion. Thrill seekers will be spoilt for choice paddling on the glistening waters of Llangors Lake (10 miles) with striking views of the Black Mountains. Back at base, refuel with a sizzling feast on the BBQ with a tranquil backdrop.

This historic property features an inviting cottage interior with warm earthy tones, exposed beam work, and wooden textures throughout. Ease out of muddy boots at the door before venturing into the open-plan living space. Stretch out on the lived-in leather sofas with a drink and debrief on the day’s activities or thumb through a local guidebook. Grab some fizz and mark your special occasion with a leisurely evening soiree gathered around the wooden dining table. Chefs of the group can potter in the open-plan wooden kitchen to rustle up dessert or prepare a round of evening tipples. Step up to rinse off in the shower room before turning in for the night. Completing the ground floor is a cosy twin. Retire upstairs to find a double and a traditional twin, each with an en-suite and coordinating furniture. Outside, little ones can roam free on the grassy play area before settling in for lunch in the picnic area.

Barter for bargains, sniff candles and scoff samples at the local farmers market in Brecon (11 miles). Keen walkers can attempt to tackle the four circular walks of ‘Bwlch With Altitude, Fortitude, Magnitude and Solitude’ in Bwlch (17 miles). For more leisurely pursuits, simply saunter through the pretty streets of Crickhowell (17 miles) peppered with cosy coffee nooks and local shops.

A super home-from-home - spacious and comfortable with everything you might need on hand. Super location in beautiful countryside, within easy distance of Hay on Wye, Brecon, Abergavenny etc. Definitely recommended.

Very helpful and charming hosts. Immaculate cottage, very well equiped. Stunning views. Loved the sounds of the sheep and watching them. Several good restaurants nearby. Crick Howell is good with a great butcher near to a super cheese and vegetable shop. Nicholls is good for gifts and indulgence.
