Escape to this delightful stone cottage nestled on the picturesque slopes of Tor-y-Foel Mountain. Sleeping three people in one bedroom, it’s an excellent accommodation option for couples or small families who are looking for a traditional cottage to call home while they explore the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park together. During the day, stroll along the Llangynidr Heritage Trail and discover its well-preserved ancient churches and traditional Welsh cottages. In the evening, come home and enjoy a glass of wine on the patio while taking in the mountain expansive views.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasting a high ceiling and classic rustic design. Slip onto the sofa and make yourself at home before heading to the traditional kitchen to whip up your favourite recipes. Pick some home-grown organic herbs and vegetables from the owner’s shared organic garden to add a little flavour. Get everyone together to eat at the dining table while you enjoy the mountain views through the window. After dinner, curl up with a good book in front of the stone wood burner - a lovely space to relax – or treat yourself to a glass of wine on the patio. At the end of the day, go upstairs and you’ll find a homely double bedroom with a single bed that is perfect for a child.

Take a leisurely stroll along the Llangynidr Canal (2.5 miles) to see the serene waterways and colourful narrowboats of famous historic canal system. It’s a great way to learn about its role in the region’s industrial background. Alternatively, go underground and explore the intriguing Llangynidr Cave (2.5 miles), and be fascinated by its unique geological formations and subterranean wonders. Discover its depths through its intricate maze of narrow passages and hidden underground chambers.

We had a thoroughly amazing and relaxing week at this cottage so tranquil. Really enjoyed the wildlife and views. So many walks to do on the doorstep and beyond, as well as exploring some of the local towns. Certainly a great place for re-charging the batteries. This air b+b far exceeded our expectations. We had to rearrange the timing of our holiday due to car trouble which the owners were most accommodating around. The cottage itself is very quaint and cosy. The countryside around it is just beautiful. We visited during spring and the flowers in the hedgerows were just beautiful. The cottage is aRead morelong a very quiet country road. Safe enough to walk my dog off lead along the road every morning which she loved. The cottage has everything that you might need including hair dryer, iron and all the various kitchen utensils and implements you can think of. We met the owners a few times who were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful four nights there and would highly recommend the cottage. The pictures don't do it justice. Hide

What a lovely week spent at this beautiful place. Peaceful and surrounded by nature, set in the middle of a valley ,this lovely cottage is a must for persons looking to re-charge. Fantastic walks from Caer Hendre with the nearest pub being apx 2 miles away.The hosts were very welcoming. The cottage is cosy ,homely and comfortable and we had a good Read morenights sleep helped by the sounds of hooting Owls ! Waking to the sound of the sheep.lovely to sit out in the evening. Great views from this property in a quiet valley with access to walks from the door including access to taff way, moors and canal. Brecon and Abergavenny within 30 minutes drive.

We had a fabulous few days in the sunshine. A great location - so quiet but easy distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Great views from the property. Equipped with every we needed and lots of thoughtful touches. We loved it at Caer Hendre and will come back for sure.

We have stayed in this cottage three times and highly recommend for those who want to get away from it all. Its location is stunning, the lane is generally quiet (farm traffic) and the access directly onto the hills is great - plenty of walks/trail running/cycling available. The cottage itself is comfortable, cosy and basic - excellent heating and Read moregreat beds. The recent addition of an air fryer has been very helpful in speeding up cooking as the kitchen is quite basic. Owners are lovely. Hide

Really quaint cottage up a single track lane, very peaceful with lovely owners who live opposite and are so friendly and helpful. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our dog and was a great base to explore the villages, reservoirs etc round it.
