The property has large social spaces and an open-plan layout, with ample room for everyone to spread out and relax. On the ground floor is a vast living area comprising a kitchen/diner with an open fire, formal dining area and games room – the perfect entertaining space. Also on the ground floor is an additional dining room that’s ideal for hosting dinner parties, a utility room, and a cosy lounge with ample seating and a roaring wood burner for those chilly evenings. The sleeping accommodation is arranged across the first and second floors, and features six elegant bedrooms, three of which have en-suite facilities (one of the en-suite bathrooms is accessed across a corridor). You’ll also find a family bathroom on the second floor. Due to the period of the property, you will discover characterful low ceilings and beams throughout the cottage, and may experience restricted head height in some areas. Outside, you’ll have a choice of areas for al fresco entertaining, including a covered patio overlooking the hills and a sunny seating area with views across the wildflower meadow. Guests are also welcome to explore the extensive grounds, which include traditional cottage gardens and open farmland. There is also a balcony off one of the bedrooms, for sitting with a morning coffee and taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Your nearest village is Old Radnor (1.5 miles), which has a traditional Welsh pub and numerous walking trails to explore. The bustling town of Kington is 5 miles away and has regular markets for picking up local produce for your dinner, as well as a fabulous collection of art galleries, boutiques, and cafes lining its historic streets. The town is the start of the long-distance Mortimer Trail and is also home to England’s highest 18-hole golf course. Further afield, enjoy day trips to the literary haven of Hay-on-Wye (16 miles) or the cathedral city of Hereford (25 miles).
