Set on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this traditional stone-built cottage offers a quiet rural retreat for a family of five or a group of friends plus two canine companions. Elegant interiors with a wood burner, a roll-top bath and a farmhouse-style kitchen create a homely and comfortable base for guests who want to explore the nearby seaside villages, sandy beaches and historic landmarks.

As you enter the property, you’ll find yourself in the bright and airy open-plan kitchen/diner with neutral-toned decor which is complemented by wooden worktops on the ‘U’-shaped fitted kitchen. Completing this chic space is a dining area with an eye-catching feature fireplace and a wooden dining table beneath a low-hanging rustic light. Continue into the coastal-themed lounge to find a plush velvet sofa, wooden furnishings and a cosy wood burner. Upstairs, is a family bathroom with a roll-top bath and a spacious walk-in shower, a king-size bedroom with a Smart TV plus a bunk bedroom with a single above a double bed. Outside, you’ll find an external utility room and a lawned garden with furniture and a charcoal BBQ.

During your stay in the hamlet of Carew Cheriton, explore your immediate surroundings to discover a couple of pubs and a shop within 1 mile. Take Fido to sniff out the dramatic ruins of Carew Castle beside a 23-acre millpond (0.5 miles). Continue heading into the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park to visit National Trust Cleddau Woodlands (6.5 miles) or the dog-friendly Upton Castle Botanical Gardens (3 miles). Head south for a day on the expansive sandy shores of Barafundle Bay Beach (10 miles). Also within reach is the coastal village of Saundersfoot (7 miles) and the seaside town of Tenby (6.5 miles).

Absolutely gorgeous property. Close to everything, short walk to Carew Inn where they serve delicious meals. Cottage was like home from home, had everything you could need and an enclosed garden for the dogs, lots of walks nearby as well Owners live next to property but left us to ourselves apart from letting us know !SELECTED!they are !ENDOFSELECTRead moreED!there if we needed anything . Lovely place, quiet, comfortable. We are a family with two young boys (4 and 6), they could play in the garden. We could walk to Carew castle. By car close to Tenby and Pembroke.

I would highly recommend this holiday cottage to anyone. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated and decorated in keeping with the heritage of the building. It is well equipped with everything you need. The garden is secure if you have a dog, it is also a great area to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Such a wonderful cottage in a lovely quiet location and yet so close to really nice places to visit. The house was immaculate and very helpful hosts. I have stayed in a few holiday cottages over the years and Tyr Athrawes has to be one of, if not, the best. If you book check out the lovely hamlet, church and nearby walks. The cottage is truly idylic and very comfortable and the surrounding area makes it even more special with the charming St Mary's church and the historical Carew Castle & Tidal Mill within walking distance. Very much recommend a stay!

This is a lovely house with good sized rooms and garden. The deco and equipment is very modern, with the bath being a real highlight after a day of walking. There were bowls and a towel for the dogs which was very welcoming. The area is amazing with so many historical places to discover and wildlife everywhere. An excellent property that felt like home from home. A lovely sized kitchen diner which was especially good when travelling with a dog. The bathroom is exceptional with a very large shower. The house is in a quiet little hamlet, with a nature trail nearby which was perfect for morning dog walks. The location is great for seeing all Pembrokeshire haRead mores to offer, with Carew castle and a good pub 15 minutes walk away. Owners are nearby and are very helpful when needed. We had an absolutely wonderful time, the house was beautiful, clean and comfortable with everything you needed. Host was lovely. The house is perfectly positioned to explore beautiful Pembrokeshire, we will be coming back.
