On arrival: No heating or hot water due low pressure in the boiler water, advised this happens a lot had to take out kitchen drawer and refill the boiler. Strong smell of dog two hoovers both filled with dog hairs, not picking up from floor or furniture. Covered sofa with throw as white animal hairs were covering our clothes. We wished to Read moresit outside, as there is a stunning view of the estuary from the first floor balcony area. But the table, chairs and walking surfaces were covered in bird mess. We found a cloth and bucket to wash this down with and it remained clean for the rest of our stay. The downstairs (main) bathroom is entered from the small front door hallway, this area was extremely dirty after a few days of walking. There was no working hoover, there was a broom, but no dustpan and brush. The radiator dripped green gunk onto the floor, we flagged this and it wasnt cleaned up by the cleaner who visited halfway through our stay. We followed the instructions to separate all our rubbish into 5 different bins, which we got from different rooms no bins were provided specifically for this despite the instructions left by the owner. These were then all thrown into the single general rubbish bin outside by the cleaner. The bathroom shower ran hot and cold repeatedly during our whole stay. The shower in the ensuite worked very well but is very small and has no area for shower or hair products to be put apart from the floor. None of the curtains or blinds were affixed to their poles/tracks well. The downstairs bedroom particularly was very poor and we had to use weights to keep the curtains tight to the window to minimise streetlight entering the room at night. (We chose to stay in this room as the main bedroom window was onto the street.) The downstairs bedroom had so much furniture it was difficult to get out of bed without hitting a chest of drawers or dressing table. We moved these into a spare room for the duration of our stay. On moving them and the beds we tried to hoover the floor and thats when we found that the hoovers were full of animal hair, smelt terrible, and didnt pick up or stay charged. The kitchen pans didnt have enough or right fitting lids. The kettle filament was covered in a black deposit that we didnt notice until halfway through the holiday, pouring into a saucepan to boil for steaming. This would have been flaking off the whole time. When flagged with the owner he asked us to go and by a new one. We are currently owed 15 which we would appreciate the refund of. The drainer was extremely dirty, we cleaned as much off as we could but were appalled by how it had been left. We wished to use the washing machine and couldnt get it to initiate a programme. On contacting the owner he said he could recall how it worked as it wasnt used. There were no instructions. It worked finally. Instructions to any electrical items were buried in a folder which held huge amounts of fliers for sites of interest so was difficult to locate anything easily. Nothing for the washing machine ever found. The whole property felt very unloved. It was only clean around the edges, no furniture or mats moved when cleaning was done. Old, dirty sofas. An overpowering smell of dog. Plates and bowls that didnt state were ok for dishwasher or microwave. Overall our (out of the house) holiday was incredible. Views from the house were great and it is a good location. People were friendly, helpful, kind, and generous. We recommend restaurants daydaySea Breeze and Luna & Blus tapas bar. Cafs, our favourites Noon Line and Ottos. Trains ran regularly to Twywn, Machynlleth, Borth we took regular trips for the comedy festival, to Hermit Crab caf (Mach) and the Dyfi Wholefoods store (Mach). Walking out from the house there were many routes, quite hilly and very nature filled. The estuary and sea walks are beautiful. Hide

This is a spacious house rather than a cottage, in a great location. The exterior is not very attractive, and understandably the photographs largely featured the lovely big balcony which has stunning views over the estuary Unfortunately ,on arrival I sat down on one of the badly rusted tubular steel chairs which broke and I was almost speared inRead more the leg. I only weigh 9 stone The house is well equipped and well furnished, but with not much attention to

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk:

Thankyou for your review, we've spoken to the homeowner and this issue has now been rectified and these chairs have been replaced.

The perfect place for us. Great location, with amazing views. An easy walk to restaurants and shops, the alley next to the garden halved the distance. We loved the balcony and sitting out in the afternoon. The dogs loved the garden. Well equipped and clean, lots of storage. Can recommend the Harbour Kitchen and Sea breeze for amazing food.
