  • Scenic outlook over undulating surroundings towards the Dyfi Estuary and the sea
  • A perfect balance between a tranquil rural setting and proximity to the beach and shops
Property code: OC-DY050

Coast, countryside and Cardigan Bay views – this welcoming timber lodge ticks all the boxes. Close to Aberdyfi Beach and with a spacious covered veranda, it’s ideal for a party of four and a couple of canine companions.

Located within a hillside holiday park on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, this Swiss-style lodge is flooded with light and offers a scenic outlook towards the Dyfi Estuary. Climb the exterior steps, cross the decking area and enter the open-plan living space where honey-coloured wood on walls and ceilings creates a warm and welcoming ambience. Stretch out on the sofas to soak in the views or enjoy your favourite TV programmes, whip up tasty meals in the kitchen area then gather around the table to dine and plan your next day’s adventures – the dogs will be able to stay close at all times. Once they’re settled for the night, relax with a hot bath or shower in the family bathroom, then head off to sleep in your choice of a king or twin bedroom. Your living space is extended by a spacious balcony to the front of the property – enclosed and furnished with a table and chairs, it’s a lovely spot for relaxing evenings with far-reaching views.

Just a mile away, Aberdyfi has a 3-mile dunes-backed beach alongside a golf club and a choice of shops and eateries. The mountains meet the coastline here and the area is a haven for walkers – pick up the Welsh Coast Path and stroll 4 miles to the pretty town of Tywyn, a foodies’ delight with a promenade that’s the perfect place for dolphin spotting. Heritage steam engines transport passengers from Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, buried deep in the mountains above Abergynolwyn – the 7-mile journey passes through ancient meadows and woodlands within sight of Cadair Idris. For adventures from your doorstep, the Panorama Walk is a 4-mile trail that will take you high above Aberdyfi, with views of the estuary and, on the opposite side, Borth – home to Ceredigion’s longest beach.

Amazing location - comfy and cosy cabin. We traveled by train which worked really well, maybe worth considering the steep walk from town to the cabin if youre doing the same! Totally worth it every time for the fabulous views though. We had everything we needed and absolutely loved our stay. Tesco deliver to the site which is very handy.

Aberdovey is a lovely town with several great little cafes, and the Dovey Arms pub is definitely worth a visit. The lodge itself is in a wonderful position with views to die for...if it stops raining, which unfortunately we had rather a lot of during our weeks visit, but we are all at the mercy of the British weather. It's certainly an interestingRead more drive up to the park dodging the odd cow or sheep on the way! The lodge is well equipped with everything you would need for your holiday, had a cracking nights sleep, whether that was to do with the very comfortable bed, or the amount of exercise we were getting I'm not sure. One word of warning. Although the lodge description on the website does clearly state that is not suitable for those with walking difficulties, I would suggest that it adds "Totally unsuitable for those requiring mobility scooter, or wheelchair access" as this is next to impossible. All in all a good stay in a beautiful area which we hope to return to in the near future, but possibly somewhere, in our case, a little more user friendly. Hide
