A converted barn overlooking the lovely Cleddau estuary is ideally placed for families or friends planning to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Sleeping eight guests, with a welcome for up to five dogs, this cosy holiday home in the village of Hundleton is one of a small complex of barn conversions. Set in a quiet, rural lane, it is within easy reach of golden beaches, magnificent medieval castles and wonderfully scenic coastal walks. A shop and pub are within 0.5 miles and there are more shops and eateries in historic Pembroke, just 2 miles away.

The barn is on two floors, with traditional external stone steps leading to the first-floor living area. Comfortable seating beneath characterful rafters in the lounge offers tranquil views of the estuary, while the spacious kitchen/diner has a large country-style table and chairs. Downstairs are four bedrooms; two doubles and two twins, all simply furnished in white bed linen. Also on this floor are an en-suite bathroom and two shower rooms. Outside, a shared open lawn to the front of the barn overlooks the estuary, with a private patio at the rear.

Head for family-friendly Freshwater East beach (6 miles), one of a string of wide, sandy bays along this stretch of coast, or wilder Freshwater West (5 miles), a favourite for surfers. The National Trust’s Barafundle Bay (5 miles), an unspoiled gem with turquoise waters, is well worth the 0.5-mile walk from the car park. Visit Pembroke’s mighty Norman Castle, where the Dungeon Tower hides an authentic medieval gaol, and take a walking tour to discover the 900-year-old walled town’s fascinating history. Other dramatic, must-see castles include picture-book Manorbier (7.5 miles), and Carew (6.5 miles), with its historic tidal mill.

The cottage is in a very picturesque spot and it was very tranquil nice place too catch up with family and it was very nice to be greeted with the delicious Welsh cakes. Some beautiful walks nearby, and I would thoroughly recommend Pembroke and Carew castles.

Lovely cottage well equipped, we would not recommend it for people with mobility issues because of the stairs into and then within. Beautiful, peaceful location tucked away down a country lane.

Beautiful cottage and a lovely spot, the cottage we stayed in was oak, loved the upstairs living and downstairs bedrooms, very novel. We went for a family birthday and had a lovely time, not too far to some lovely beaches and a nice walk along the estuary and surrounding area, with our 3 dogs. Would definitely go again.

Lounge is not bit enough for 7 adults but with a reconfiguration of to and furniture this could be solved. Nice and central to explore places but a little hard to find as off the beaten track.
