Take a rural retreat with your other half (and up to two furry friends!) at this quaint property set in the grounds of Grade II-listed Norton Mill. It’s an ideal bolthole to relax, regroup and get out to explore the Welsh Marches or to get arty in Presteigne. With super comfortable accommodation, plus gorgeous views and a fabulous balcony, you’ll also want to spend plenty of downtime relaxing at this cool home from home.
You’ll approach this woodclad, lodge-style accommodation via a tree-lined lane with green and wooded views. All on one level, this property is accessed via stairs to the generous first-floor balcony with its choice of seating areas, where you can dine or just sit and listen to the brook running by as you admire the woodland. From here, it’s into the bright and airy kitchen through double doors, complete with a four-seater dining area. The living room lies beyond the kitchen, with seating options and rustic-style furniture. Charming apex ceilings, complete with ancient beams add character throughout, while calming light decor brings a relaxing vibe.
Venturing 2 miles south of this holiday home, you’ll find the pretty town of Presteigne with its vibrant, artistic scene, plus shops, historic architecture and eateries. It makes a charming place for a holiday mooch. And if you're partial to some living history, check out The Judge’s Lodging which is a quirky museum detailing the life of a very singular household. Do check times before you visit though, as it’s closed in winter. Or if you want to strike out on foot, then Offa’s Dyke National Trail has longer stretches of footpath. You can join from Knighton, which is 5 miles away and the only town actually along the trail.
