This dog-friendly period property has been wonderfully restored to make a fabulous coastal retreat in pretty Aberaeron. It’s perfect for a small family, friends or even one or two couples who want to beach-hop along this stunning coastline. For those after a more active break, the Wales Coast Path runs through this colourful town so you can walk a section or two while watching out for dolphins in the glistening waters of Cardigan Bay. Sheer bliss!
Rustic retreats don’t come much better than this charming cottage with plenty of space to relax and unwind. The elegant lounge is a striking space with its beamed, vaulted ceiling and wooden staircase winding its way up from one side. The general feeling is relaxed and comfortable. There’s another cosy sitting area in the generous conservatory. The versatile sleeping accommodation comprises two twin bedrooms – with one downstairs for added flexibility. Mull over days passed or to come with a cup or glass in the enclosed garden with its furnished patio and mature planting.
This characterful holiday home is close to Aberaeron’s centre, so you’ll be within easy reach of pubs and restaurants if you don’t fancy self-catering. Its quaint harbour at the mouth of the River Aeron is also worth a visit, lined by painted houses giving it a vibrant and interesting look. Head south, 7.5 miles along the coast, to popular New Quay with its glorious sandy swathes and dolphin spotting boat trips. Colourful Aberystwyth is 16 miles north along the coast with its varied eateries, splendid Victorian-era prom and restored funicular, or cliff railway, providing stunning views both inland and out to sea. Or head inland 2.5 miles to the NT’s Llanerchaeron Estate with its Georgian villa and lovely walled garden – dogs can go in the grounds, but not the house.
