Discover island life from this elegant single-storey cottage within 5 miles of the village of Rhosneigr on Anglesey’s west coast. Sleeping six guests, it’s a comfortable retreat for a group of friends or relatives wishing to be within easy reach of picturesque beaches, as well as independent shops and eateries. Rustle up hearty Welsh feasts for a special occasion or to enjoy outside under the pergola listening to the soothing sounds of the water feature.
Bright and cheerful, the cottage feels like a home away from home thanks to its modern comforts and thoughtful touches. Unwind on sumptuous sofas in front of the Smart TV in the lounge, where a gorgeous wooden floor and beamed ceiling add character. Teenagers in your group can slip away to the cosy snug to play games or watch their own choice of programme on another Smart TV. The colourful kitchen/diner opens onto the garden, which leads up to a raised deck with BBQ, while an external utility room includes a handy WC. A family bathroom and all four bedrooms are on the same level as the main living space, though there are some internal steps.
Rhosneigr has two sandy beaches separated by rocky outcrops – Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan – where you can swim, surf and picnic on the sand. You can also follow the coastal path through dunes to Aberffraw (4 miles) and its wide sandy beach. For a fun family day out, drive 12 miles south to Anglesey Sea Zoo to meet octopuses, jellyfish and seahorses or have a go at mini golf and navigating remote-controlled swamp boats. While you’re in this part of Anglesey, make time for a walk to the magical tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn (9 miles), which is steeped in Welsh folklore.
