A delightful Welsh hideaway at the heart of the market town of Hay-on-Wye, this enticing cottage will suit book enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors alike. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, it is set at the heart of the famous literary hub and on the fringes of picturesque Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons. Head out on foot to explore the town, with its many book stores, independent shops, and eateries. Time your visit with the annual literary festival or the book launch of your favourite author. Visit the castle, 300 metres away, or hire a canoe or kayak and paddle out along the scenic River Wye. Follow a section of the long-distance Offa’s Dyke Path from the town or head deep into the national park to find other trails and beauty spots. Plan a trip to the famous foodie town of Abergavenny, 23 miles away.

Return from your excursions to find accommodation that combines original character with a high standard of modern-day comfort. Take a step down into the beamed, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Enjoy the warmth of the underfloor heating or switch on the flame-effect electric fire so it brings a cosy glow to the space. Put the kettle on in the contemporary kitchen area to make a relaxing cup of tea. Write your postcards home at the wooden table, before whipping up a delicious meal in the stylish kitchen. Surf the channels on the Smart TV to find a film that everyone will enjoy. When you are ready to rest your head on your pillow, climb the stairs up to the first floor of the cottage. Here you have two beautiful bedrooms to choose from. Both with plantation shutters at the windows, one features a king-size bed, and the other has a double. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room, while guests in the double can enjoy sole use of the family bathroom.

There is no outside space with this property. Guests will, however, find themselves within 200 metres of the beautiful countryside. Roadside parking is subject to availability, or within the pay-and-display car park on Oxford Road, 350 metres away.
