Set beside the river in the coastal village of Trefor, this charming semi-detached cottage is a peaceful base for couples, friends and families exploring North Wales. Overlooking Caernarfon Bay, Trefor has a sheltered sandy beach, harbour, and stone breakwater pier, while the Wales Coast Path provides an easy way to uncover more of the coastline. Surfers can head beyond the harbour for the waves, and the surrounding waters are also suited to fishing, sailing and other water sports. Snowdonia National Park is 5 miles away, with spectacular scenery and walking routes to discover. Nefyn (7.5 miles) is another great destination, with its sweeping beach, shops, pubs, restaurants and golf club. Make the trip to Abersoch (15.5 miles), roam the Italianate village of Portmeirion (20 miles) or, for a change of pace, spend a day in the vibrant city of Bangor (22 miles).

Arrive via the riverside drive, and park right outside the front door before heading inside this pretty cottage. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is made for sociable evenings after days out exploring. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare a meal, while the dining table is a handy place to eat together and map out plans for the next day. French doors open onto the garden, bringing in the sounds of birdsong and the sights of the riverbank. Settle onto the sumptuous sofa with the Smart TV, or switch on the electric wood-burner-effect fire for a cosy evening. When it's time for bed, choose between the king-size and double bedrooms, both furnished with a good night's sleep in mind. The stylish shower room is ready for a refreshing start to the morning.

Outside, the garden sits directly on the riverside, with steps leading down to the water where you can paddle your toes and watch the local wildlife. There’s a garden table and chairs for meals in the open air, while paths lead into the woodland, alongside the river and onwards towards the coast. Beyond the cottage, the owners’ small caravan park sits among the countryside, with lovely rural views. The owners may occasionally be on-site, although your privacy is assured. There is parking for one car, with room in the garden to store bicycles and a paddleboard
