This breathtaking property boasts a fairytale-like location, nestled peacefully between Colemere lake and the Shropshire Union Canal. Just metres from the doorstep, wildlife-rich Colemere is surrounded by mature woodland and has two attractive hay meadows, with a 1.5-mile circular walk at the water’s edge. The canal’s Llangollen Branch passes within metres of your front door too. Fully immerse yourselves in this watery landscape by following the towpath to beautiful Blakemere and, beyond, the wharf at Ellesmere, less than 3 miles away. The Mere here is the largest of nine glacial lakes that give this region the moniker: Shropshire’s Lake District. Ellesmere’s vibrant town centre includes an indoor market hall and a fine choice of inns and eateries. Further afield, Whitchurch (12 miles) is the county’s oldest market town and a haven for history buffs.

A short private track leads to a parking area at the front of this dreamy rural retreat – pause to admire the scenery on both sides before beginning to unpack. An open-plan social space welcomes you inside. A choice of comfortable seating includes a sofa bed and is arranged before a wood burner-effect electric fire and Smart TV, while in one corner, the dining suite is conveniently close to the contemporary kitchen. A modern wet room is designed for convenience, and the first of two bedrooms completes the ground-floor layout. Alongside the twin beds in this room, there’s a large closet with space to store your larger items. On the first floor, the sanctuary-like double bedroom has views over the lake and further space for personal belongings.

Unwind in the lovely, private garden, which includes outdoor seating, a BBQ and a picnic area. Lap up the views across the surrounding woodland and lake from the front of the property; the back garden patio space runs alongside the canal, so you can watch as boats glide slowly by. Private parking is available for two cars.
