  • Delightful stone cottage on a working farm
  • Enjoy your own patio area as well as extensive shared gardens with a pond
Property code: OC-WAG501

The idyllic cottage is set in the courtyard of a busy working farm, with far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside. The property sleeps four guests and makes a fabulous couples’ retreat or base for a small family. You’ll be just 3 miles from the seaside resort of Colwyn Bay and the bustling, historic town of Conwy is 6 miles away. After a busy day, take a sunset stroll around the picturesque, shared grounds, followed by a glass of wine on your private patio.

The stone cottage cleverly combines original features, such as exposed beams, with contemporary decor and vibrant soft furnishings, to create a memorable backdrop to your holiday. The cottage has a reverse-level layout, with a twin bedroom and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room on the ground floor. The lounge/kitchen/diner is on the first floor - to really make the most of the exceptional views - and has a sociable, open-plan layout and impressive vaulted ceiling. Cook up a storm in the kitchen area, and enjoy mealtimes together at the dining table, followed by a movie night on the plush, leather sofa. The utility room is shared with the adjoining property. Outside, dine alfresco on the private patio and explore the shared garden, which has lawns, an unfenced pond, and pretty seating areas.

The traditional seaside resort of Colwyn Bay boasts a long, sandy beach backed by a promenade. The seafront has recently been transformed into Porth Eirias (meaning ‘park by the sea’), with a water sports centre, range of shops, and high-end restaurants. The charming town of Llandudno (9.5 miles) makes a lovely day out. Explore the Victorian pier, with its traditional rides and shops, or hop on Britain’s longest cable car to visit the summit of Great Orme, where the views are truly outstanding.

We had a really comfortable stay in a cottage situated in a beautiful part of North Wales with easy access to the coast. We would stay again if it was available.

Lovely place to stay and the view is pretty. The owner was friendly and helpful. Well equipped and comfortable and clean. Its a working farm and animals are very close by the property and was surprised how noisy it was at night time. Better to keep windows shut but not practical for when its hot.

A lovely up side down living barn conversion. Lots of space in the open plan upper lounge/kitchen/dinner. Lovely views over the surrounding country side. Beds were very comfy and plenty of draw and hanging space. Private off road parking was a bonus. All in all a great base to explore the North Wales coast.

Comfortable accommodation situated on a working dairy farm. Stayed in cottage number 1 - the living room being above the bedroom allowed us to enjoy lovely views over the beautiful countryside. Parking in site a few yards from the cottage., tho you can pull up to the area in front of the entrance to unload your luggage. Well equipped and clean Read moreproperty. Friendly and approachable owner - there was also the added benefit of friendly dogs on site, especially Olly. We had a cake and some eggs as our welcome pack, very nice. I would be very happy to return to Dorwen - lots to do in the area, not too far from the seaside, plenty of places to visit (castles, stately homes, nature reserve, plenty of walking) and close enough to Anglesey to allow us to explore. FYI: my sat nav guided us to a property just down the lane from the farm so continue past this and you will see a clear Dorwen Farm sign. Hide
