Located in in the village of Clocaenog next to the owner’s B&B, this pretty annexe makes a romantic retreat in the heart of beautiful North Wales. It has a lovely, light open-plan living space, a private garden with a BBQ, underfloor heating throughout and a stunning bathroom, and it’s perfectly placed for walking, mountain biking and water sports.

The pretty cottage has been stylishly refurbished to provide attractive accommodation for two. The open-plan living area is full of natural light with windows on both sides and combines the living room, kitchen, and dining area. It has comfy seating for chilling and watching TV, a fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar for quick eats, and a dining table and chairs for romantic meals. The contemporary shower room is also on the ground floor. Upstairs you’ll find the stylish bedroom with a sumptuous king-size bed, Velux windows and sloping ceilings. French doors in the kitchen lead out to the pretty garden, a private spot perfect for al fresco drinks and dining. You’re also welcome to enjoy the wider garden surrounding the property.

There are lots of stunning walks and biking trails nearby including among the 6,000-hectare Clocaenog Forest (5 miles away) and in the Clwydian Hills (6.5 miles). Llyn Brenig (14 miles) is a popular spot for mountain biking and water sports. Ruthin (4 miles) is home to many fascinating attractions, including a castle that hosts medieval banquets, a busy craft centre and Ruthin Gaol visitor centre. Visit Llangollen (18 miles) to enjoy a canal boat ride and explore the canal museum. Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is 22 miles away. Betws-y-Coed – ‘the gateway to Snowdonia’ – is 22 miles away and Chester (30 miles) and Wrexham (20 miles) are within reach too.

This is a little Gem in beautiful North Wales. Very clean and well equipped. The garden is beautiful secluded area we enjoyed our Bar B Que. But it is not gated so for young children or pets they can 'get out' by the side of the house. Owners are quick to respond to queries. Parking outside. No phone reception because the cottage is in a valley buRead moret you can use the house WiFi connection to keep in touch and share your photos! Hide

Perfect retreat to recharge the proverbial batteries and felt very much at home and delightfully comfortable and relaxed. Great location in the wonderful scenery and close to civilization too. Gem of a rural retreat and as General Douglas MacArthur said, I shall return.

We were made very welcome by the owner of the cottage and nothing was too much trouble for her when we needed her help. The cottage was lovely and clean and had everything that we needed for our stay.

The host was the ideal host. Theyre when we needed her and not when we were just relaxing. Her property was spotless and very comfortable. We would definitely return.
