This gorgeous barn conversion, located on a working farm close to the picturesque village of Berriew in Mid Wales, is all on one level with no stairs, and benefits from a wet room, wood and slate tiled floors with underfloor heating, and a pretty, enclosed garden. It’s close to local village amenities, 6 miles from the town of Welshpool, and makes an ideal rural retreat for friends or family.

The cottage has been thoughtfully revamped with stylish interiors and lots of natural light thanks to a wall of windows running the entire length of the living area. It has a spacious living room with a dining area, and an electric stove for cosy nights in, a TV and DVD player, and patio doors lead outside. Next to it is the kitchen, with a handy hatch through to the dining table, and everything you’ll need for cooking delicious meals in. There are two pretty bedrooms, an attractive double and a cute single (sofa bed in living room is also available), as well as the fully accessible wet room. At the front of the cottage is a small patio and lawn you can relax on on warm days.

You’ll find two good pubs to visit in Berriew, as well as an excellent cafe, a butcher, a general store, and tennis courts you can book. Explore the museum of sculpture garden in the village and head to Glansevern Hall (2 miles away) to marvel at the incredible 25-acre gardens there. The area is renowned for excellent walking and being on the National Cycling Route 81 it’s a haven for cyclists too. Golfers can play at Lakeside (3 miles) or Welshpool (5 miles). Powis Castle and gardens overlooking Welshpool (5 miles) are a must-see, with a lovely cafe and shop to pop into too.

The owners were welcoming. The double bed was very uncomfortable and the barn was cold and difficult to heat.

Cottage was comfortable, clean welcoming. Hosts were lovely. welcome pack delicious and thoughtful. Beds comfy plenty of clean towels. I only missed a dishwasher and that not much as I actually quite like washing up! Location was lovely. Broadband not brilliant but then it isnt in Berriew. Not an issue.
