A stylish glamping pod for two offers an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Mid Wales countryside. This peaceful, wooden hideaway, available only for adults over 18, is located on a small glamping and caravan site at Spring Rock Fishery. The unspoiled rural setting is perfect for walks and cycle rides, and the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells is just 6.5 miles away.
The comfortable accommodation has a step up from the outside decking. Inside is a double bed with lovely views out to the countryside, together with an electric radiator. There is neat storage for a fridge, microwave and kitchen essentials, plus a wall-mounted TV. A folding table and two chairs are ideal for al fresco dining on the sheltered deck. Just a few metres away are a shared washing-up area, and toilet block with coin-operated showers.
Try your hand at a spot of coarse fishing (carp) in the lakes at Spring Rock; just book a session in advance. Wildlife abounds in this scenic landscape. Visit the Red Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader (11.5 miles), where you can watch these remarkable birds at close quarters from hides. The site overlooks the lovely Wye and Elan valleys and has a coffee shop, picnic spot and farm trail. Llandrindod Wells, the county town of Radnorshire, has shops, cafes, and a fascinating Heritage Trail. You can still drink the renowned spa waters at the Chalybeate Spring. The town also houses the National Cycle Museum, with a splendid collection spanning 200 years, from Bone Shakers to the latest racing models.
