Property code: OC-PW907A

A pretty cottage in a peaceful setting on the outskirts of Saundersfoot, this is a lovely holiday hideaway for two or a small family. The detached, single-storey property sleeps three and is less than half a mile’s stroll through beautiful woodland to the sea at Glen Beach. Lively Saundersfoot, with its golden sands, shops, restaurants and pubs, is less than a mile away, and there is a wealth of wonderful scenic walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

Sloping wood-panelled ceilings enhance the country-style interior of this charming cottage. The spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area is light and bright, with comfortable leather seating. There are two cosy bedrooms, one 4′ double and one single, and a good-size shower room. An external door from the double bedroom opens onto a small, private patio with a table and chairs. From this whitewashed area, a quaint stone archway leads into a delightful, paved garden and patio with outdoor furniture, shared with the cottage owner.

Saundersfoot’s huge main beach has sheltered, shallow waters, ideal for safe swimming and water sports, with rock pools for children to explore. Regular sea safari boat trips from the harbour offer the chance to spot dolphins and seals. For more animal close-ups, visit Manor Wildlife Park to walk with the wallabies, and meet meerkats, lemurs and endangered species in natural surroundings. Historic Tenby (3 miles) is renowned for its cobbled streets and coloured period houses, while from the town’s harbour, you can catch a boat to Caldey Island. This unspoiled holy isle is home to a community of monks, whose handmade products are sold in a small gift shop. There are two splendid castles within easy reach: Carew (7.5 miles) and Manorbier (8.5 miles).

An amazing stay. Martin and Carolyn were fantastic hosts, who were always there to help and provide a wealth of information about the local area. We hope to return soon.

A nicely located and cosy cottage, perhaps a little too cosy for larger people? Be aware that there is no internet there, and the (EE) mobile signal is poor. This was important to us as we like to plan our days withe the help of Google. Nevertheless, we had a very pleasant week there, and we would recommended it.
