This adorable former miner’s cottage is in the picturesque village of Beddgelert. The property sleeps two guests and is ideal for couples who love to get out and about in nature. As expected, the walking opportunities in the area are endless, and you’ll be just 3 miles from one of the many routes to the summit of Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon. After a long walk, return to your cosy retreat to snuggle up in the glow of the roaring wood burner.
The 18th-century stone cottage is the epitome of a romantic bolthole, brimming with original features and homely touches. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is the perfect place to unwind, creating dishes in the sweet kitchen, sharing romantic dinners at the cute table for two, watching a film on the TV/DVD, or delving into your favourite book in the rocking chair by the wood burner. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor, where you’ll find a traditional king-size bedroom with views across the valley. A bathroom completes the accommodation. To the front of the cottage is a little patio where you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the tranquil views.
Beddgelert is a paradise for walkers, with routes in all shapes and sizes branching away from the village. The Lon Gwyrfai track is particularly scenic, offering exceptional views of Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon. There are also some lovely paths following the river Colwyn and Glaslyn. Step back in time with a ride on the steam trains of the Welsh Highland Railway, which stops off at the village station. A short ride along the tracks takes you to Rhyd Ddu, which is the starting point of one of the routes to Snowdon’s summit. A slightly longer journey brings you to Porthmadog (8 miles), where you can spend the day at the beach at Black Rock Sands.
