The Scandi/rustic feel of this boutique lodge near Menai Bridge is welcoming all year round for couples and small families. In the summer you’ll want to spend time on its lovely veranda, while in the winter you can enjoy the flames of the wood burner in the cosy lounge.

The interior of this appealing holiday home is clad in timber for a rustic and homely feel. The ground floor is open plan, with a kitchen tucked to one side, flowing into the dining area and then the lounge, where a modern wood burner sits in one corner. Comfortable seating and a Smart TV create a welcoming area for quiet evenings in, while a football table offers the opportunity for fun and games. On this floor there’s also a shower room with a walk-in power shower and WC. Upstairs, the double bedroom has a covered balcony with distant mountain views, and a bath and basin in a tiled area at one end of the room – ideal for a soak at the end of the day. There’s also a twin bedroom and a separate WC on this floor. The lodge, which is located on a small, exclusive development, is surrounded by a large lawn, perfect for children to play games while you watch from your wooden veranda.

The lodge is within easy reach of Anglesey’s fabulous beaches and attractions. The small town of Menai Bridge offers a variety of pubs, cafes and interesting shops, as well as scenic walks and views of the beautiful suspension bridge that connects the island to the mainland of Wales. For families, Pili Palas Nature World is just 1.5 miles and Anglesey Sea Zoo is 7.5 miles, and history buffs will enjoy the magnificent Caernarfon Castle, 8 miles, one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages.

The only reason I rated comfort slightly low is due to the sofa in the property. It was so uncomfortable we couldnt really use it.
