Take the whole family away to Wales this coming bank holiday week. Include the dog and take long walks through verdant countryside, breezy coastal paths or just unwind in front of glorious views!
Wales Holidays still has a choice of cottages, farmhouses and bungalows available for the Bank Holiday week. Here are a few examples of pet friendly cottages still available for the 24 August. For large families of up to 8 there is the cottage near Montgomery. This converted grain barn is up in the hills above the village and benefits from panoramic, far reaching views and Wi-Fi. No longer available :( but take a look at WAH421 - Bungalow near Dolgellau - Further towards the coast the detached 4* bungalow near Dolgellau has views over to the Cadair Idris mountain range and a choice of popular beaches within ½ hour drive.
In West Wales the extremely spacious farmhouse near Cenarth, surrounded by 50 acres of farmland, is in a great location for Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire.
Near to the sea is the bungalow at Dyffryn Ardudwy. Sleeping 6, this detached property offers plenty of books, games and toys for children as well as Wi-Fi.
For a bit of character, the cottage near Llanerchymedd is beamed throughout, again sleeps 6 and is placed perfectly for exploring the Isle of Anglesey.
Or for rural calm, consider this cottage near Rhayader which is part of a grade II listed longhouse dating back to the C15th. Situated on the Elan Valley estate, alongside the Claerwen river. No longer available :(
2015 Update: Tyddyn Bwlch is approached up a forestry track and is in a great location for those looking to get away for a holiday in the great out doors in the Coed y Brenin forest. This detached stone house has been restored and updated to high standards to offer comfortable and spacopus accoommodation for up to 9 people.
Smaller families should take a look at the 4* cottage near Llanbrynmair. This barn has been converted into two units set in beautiful Mid Wales with lovely hill views.
Alternatively, the cottage near Builth Wells is one of three adjoining properties recently converted from a C16th barn with high beamed ceilings.
In South Wales the pretty cottage near Tenby is quietly situated in 20 acres of the owner’s lane and is within 5 miles of Tenby and the Pembrokeshire coast. No longer available :(
