Events for February Half Term in Pembrokeshire, West and South Wales
Buddy Holly and the Cricketers offer a sing along show at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven on 15 February and the English National Opera performance of Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten is being screened on 23 February. Families can enjoy the interactive Theo the Mouse Magical Mayhew Show on 25 February from the award winning writer of the Sooty Show and Basil Brush. Neuadd y Dderwen is music and arts venue at Rhosygilwen Mansion in North Pembrokeshire and on Thursday 20 February Diarmuid Johnson, the resident Bard, presents a Singers & Poets evening.
At the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran near Cardigan on 24 February take part in an afternoon team workshop constructing a permanent Minibeast Hotel for the Centre! The National Wool Museum at Dre-Fach Felindre, near Newcastle Emlyn has plenty of activities going on as well as the interesting tale of the wool industry in Wales to tell. Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan is showing Clown In The Moon on 20 February as part of the Dylan Thomas Festival, the Peter Gould Music Trust presents The Sterling Trio on the 22 February that pride itself on a creative and engaging extensive repertoire of chamber music and the National Theatre Live broadcast of War Horse will also be playing at the theatre on 27 February.
Gain free entry to the National Botanic Garden of Wales on 23 February if you bring along some of your home grown vegetable or herb seeds to swap in their first ever community seed swap event! For an exciting afternoon, get yourself to Ffos Las Racecourse on 16 February where the Dunraven racers will treat you to a wonderful display of jump racing. Take part in Pirate Week at the Gower Heritage Centre from 22 February to 3 March with pirate crafts, swashbuckling treasure hunts, interactive stories and a bouncy castle.
Tea Time at the Taliesin Arts Centre on 25 February celebrates the fun to be had at mealtimes through song and dance for little ones. The centre is also screening National Theatre Live – War Horse on 27 & 28 February. Plays at the Swansea Grand Theatre include Clown in the Moon by Dylan Thomas on 14th & 15th and Antigone 19th to 21st February. Music presentations run from Ga Ga - a tribute to Queen on 20th to the BBC National Orchestra of Wales performing Mozart on 21st February and Max Boyce on 28th February to 1 March. Young children will really enjoy Postman Pat Live on 22 February and star of cbeebies Andy Day presents the family show Andy & Mile’s…Tick Tock Time Machine on the 27th.
