Two fantastic new properties

Written by Ginnie James on

All of us in the office were very excited when we got to see the details of the two latest properties to join us. They both look fantastic!

The first, Bronhyfryd in the small village of Abercegir, is just the ideal of Welsh stone cottage cosiness. This C19 property certainly looks the part being double fronted and with a small garden enclosed by iron railings to set it back from the road. Inside the character just keeps on coming with the owner taking care to make the most of original features where possible.

The sitting room has a small woodburning stove in the inglenook which is flanked by original built-in cabinets and two of the three bedrooms have feature fireplaces but the room we all particularly love is the snug with the large leather chair and original range. We can all picture ourselves curled up with a good book and the open fire keeping us nice and warm. What better way to relax after a day of discovery in Mid Wales!

Being just 5 miles away from the old Welsh capital of Machynlleth means that a range of small independent shops, eating places and takeaway aren’t far and you can easily reach the mountains of Southern Snowdonia and our glorious coastline which provide great opportunities for all kinds of outdoor activities. There are also plenty of attractions in the area including King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Corris Craft Centre and the Centre for Alternative Technology.

Gellirwydd Barn is something quite different while still again making the most of original features. With a woodburner and stonewalls, this hi-spec barn conversion is a great mix of old and new. Located on the owner’s small stock farm in South Wales you can feel away from it all while still being within easy reach of towns, cities and coast.

You can easily make the most of the farm and countryside views as patio doors from the living room lead out to a deck and then down to a patio area and there are also doors from the kitchen diner that open out onto a second decked are overlooking the garden. With two bedrooms at one end of the barn and three at the other there is a plenty of accommodation for a large family or group of friends looking for a great time away together.

The town of Llanelli with beach, and Millennium Coastal Park is less than 10 miles away and the Pembrey Country Park with its spectacular 8 mile long sandy dune backed beach and activities for all ages is about a 30 minute drive. Gellirwydd is also only 4.5 miles from the M4 so easy access further into Carmarthenshire or along to the vibrant cities of Cardiff or Swansea.

Do take a look and I am sure that you will love them as much as we do!
