Set on a pretty courtyard just off the High Street, this delightful property is next to the owner’s home yet enjoys its own privacy. Nestled on the border between Wales and England and surrounded by stunning countryside, this thriving town makes a great base for exploring the Brecon Beacons, Shropshire Hills and the book lover’s paradise, Hay-on-Wye.

Lovingly refurbished in 2017, this dog-friendly cottage combines vintage charm with contemporary comforts and a fresh, open-plan layout. Stylish and filled with natural light and homely touches, the lounge/kitchen/diner invites relaxing evenings at home. Rustle up meals for two in the sophisticated modern kitchen, then perch at the breakfast bar with your morning coffee or savour a romantic dinner at the dining table overlooking the courtyard. Then snuggle on the sofa to catch up with your favourite TV series, wood burner roaring on chilly days. As dusk falls, head upstairs to enjoy a soak in the freestanding bathtub, before getting comfy under the covers of your king-size bed. After a refreshing morning shower and coffee in the courtyard, you’ll be ready for fresh adventures.

Wander out from your cottage to explore the Judge’s Lodgings and browse a selection of independent shops and eateries, or hop in your car to discover the National Trust properties, Croft Castle and Berrington Hall (both within 16 miles). The owner was very helpful and kind - the weather was bad on the day we were due to arrive and she called before we left to let us know that we could ring her for help if we got stuck on a flooded road! The cottage was exceptional. The bath was fabulous and the bed was extremely comfortable. Miranda, the owner was so very nice and helpful, she suggested places to see and where to eat. The holiday exceeded our expectations and was just what we needed.

Comfortable and cosy cottage in a lovely town with a friendly and generous owner/host. Take your small car (as we luckily did) as the reversing in, and parking in the courtyard is challenging.

Beautiful. Everything you need is there for you. This is not just a cottage it is full of lovely ornaments tastefully arranged about the rooms. Antique furniture blends so nice. Kitchen area has everything you need. The bathroom is to die for.

A very friendly little cottage, ideally situated for access to shops and eateries (whose owners seem to have worked out their own system of opening hours). Presteigne is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has lots of interesting places within a very pleasant drive, and there is not much traffic apart from some very large tractors at harvest tiRead moreme.
