Set on a working farm in the scenic Dulais Valley, this traditional stone cottage makes a brilliant base for adventure seekers and nature lovers. It’s in a beautiful rural spot just outside the village of Crynant (0.5 miles), giving you fantastic access to leisurely mountain walks. Activities like golf, go-quad biking, archery and paintball are all possible within 3 miles, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. With space for five guests over three bedrooms, this lovely accommodation would suit a family or group of countryside-loving friends perfectly.

On arrival, step inside this welcoming two-storey cottage to find a pleasing blend of rustic charm and home comforts. Exposed stone walls, rugged beams and oak floors give the home plenty of character. In the kitchen, cook up holiday feasts on the traditional range cooker, then when everyone’s fed and watered, retire to the separate lounge, complete with squishy seating and a Smart TV for film nights. French doors from here lead straight out to the patio – fab for letting the outside in on summer evenings. Alternatively, if it’s a bit chilly, light the wood burner and snuggle up. A wet room with a WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs, you’ll have three bedrooms tucked beneath the eaves: one double with an en-suite, a twin and a single. There’s also a spa bath in the family bathroom. Outside, relax on the semi-enclosed patio with its BBQ and dining setup, while kids enjoy the outdoor play area. You’ll also have access to a shared spa centre with hot tub, sauna, indoor pool and gym – with alternating morning and afternoon sessions for private use. Parking is available for two cars. Please note: the twin bedroom has external stone steps leading down to the garden.

There’s so much to do nearby – for a slice of local heritage, visit Cefn Coed Colliery Museum (1 mile), or marvel at the spectacular Aberdulais waterfalls (3 miles) and jaw-dropping Dan-yr-Ogof caves (11 miles). Fancy a change of pace? The city of Swansea is only 16 miles from your door, with its beach, indoor market, museums, water park and countless shops and restaurants. The golden sands of Langland Bay (18.5 miles) are also bound to be a hit.

Absolutely loved this property, location was stunning and all the farm animals were a bonus. A goat at the back of the house, horse who came up to us at the pool for a pat, and of course the doggies. We all enjoyed poppy and bell visiting us every evening. Phil was extremely helpful and very friendly, also brought us some garden chairs on request. Read more The pool facilities were also incredible we must have gone 2-3 times a day (Phil was very flexible on times too as well as other couple for second cottage) All very well looked after. We went to the port talbot beach twice which was perfect for the kids. So empty and the aqua splashpark for young kids there, was fantastic as well as the ice cream and cafe on beach with very friendly staff. Also visit gnoll country park (free country park with playground facilities and shaded walk with a good cafe). We did visit a waterfall too which was incredible, our buggy did not survive the walk unfortunately so only recommend for able walkers Hide
