Gather the family together for a fantastic break at this beautiful barn near Clyro. Sleeping 12 guests, and welcoming dogs, the six-bedroom haven is perfect for two or three families together. With a wealth of original character and an abundance of space, it sits in beautiful gardens just 1.5 miles from Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons, and from the celebrated book town of Hay-on-Wye.
Step inside to discover exquisite features, such as vaulted and double-height ceilings and exposed beams and brickwork. At the heart of the barn is a double height reception hall and lounge. Light the wood burner in the lounge, then relax together over a glass of wine. Expert pianists may be tempted by the mini grand piano in the reception hall or watch a family film on the Smart TV up in the galleried playroom. Prepare hearty feasts in the sizeable kitchen/diner, which is four steps down from the main open-plan area, and gather around the long table. There is also a well-equipped utility room downstairs and a corridor leading to bedrooms and bathrooms. These include a ground-floor family shower room, twin bedroom (which can be made up as a super king on request) and king-size bedroom, with an en-suite shower room. Stairs from this corridor lead up to a family bathroom and one king-size bedroom, one super king-size that can be made up as a twin on request, one double, one with an en-suite shower room. The remaining bedroom, which is accessed via the main staircase, has an impressive four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom. Spill out into the gardens to grill supper on the BBQ, play table tennis and watch the children chase on the lawn.
Walk or cycle into Hay-on-Wye to explore its shops and dine out. Visit the castle and hire canoes here to paddle out on the River Wye. Organise a group walk along a stretch of the long-distance Offa’s Dyke Path.
