With pristine sandy beaches, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and historic towns within easy reach of this traditional cottage, you’ll have plenty to do during your stay. The tranquil surroundings of 95 acres of farmland will ensure a relaxing holiday away from the busyness of day-to-day life. Spend quality time with your small family or partner in this cosy property, which has retained its original charm as a barn from its wooden flooring and sloped ceilings.

As you enter the property, you’ll notice the welcoming and laid-back atmosphere in the neutral-toned lounge with leather sofas and an armchair, a cosy rug and a Smart TV. The kitchen/diner has a similar feel, with neutral tones, wooden cabinets on the ‘U’-shaped fitted unit and a dining table with seating for four. Also on the ground floor is a family shower room. Climb the stairs to reach two comfortable bedrooms with oak furniture – a twin plus a king-size bedroom which boasts a TV and iPod dock/alarm clock. Outside, you’ll find a lawned garden with furniture, which is shared with neighbouring properties.

The rural location of this property, in the small village of Pen-y-Cefn, means that you’ll be surrounded by scenic countryside walking trails. To pick up essentials or dine out, head to Caerwys (2 miles) – the smallest town in Wales. Explore the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (1.5 miles) and follow the hiking trails through wooded valleys, along rivers and up to the Moel Famau mountain peak (10 miles). Cross the border into northwest England for a worthwhile trip to the historic city of Chester (24 miles) with Tudor-style timber buildings, a Roman amphitheatre and a zoo. Also within reach are the sandy shores of Prestatyn Beach (10 miles).

Wonderful Cottage in a beautiful location. Its spotlessly clean, quiet, peaceful. Hosts are close by and very helpful but not intrusive. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Our boys loved the Donkey and very friendly cats thanks for a great stay

The cottage is well located, not far from an A road, yet in a quiet place. We enjoyed the animals at the farm and local walks. Coast is ca. half an hour drive as is Chester. The place is clean, warm (underfloor heating!) and quiet.

Lovely clean, well equipped cottage. Greeted by the owner but was then left alone although they were close by if you needed them. The welcome gifts were a nice touch especially the free range eggs.
