Welsh luxury awaits for one lucky couple, a small family or two couples (plus up to two furry friends!) at this cosy lodge with sleek interiors that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Set in extensive shared grounds on a farm, it’s the perfect rural getaway to reconnect and recharge – with woodland and even a brook on site to explore, before heading out to discover this wonderful area of Wales. Just note that if you’re travelling with dogs, some areas of the grounds might have livestock.
Contemporary fixtures and fittings combine with smart neutral decor to make for a relaxing and comfortable stay in this single-storey lodge in a rural farm location. The generous living space boasts an open-plan design. Sit and chat over plans at the table or in the cosy lounge area, and keep it extra snuggly in cooler months with the wood burner. The elegant bedrooms are both king-size, with one having an en-suite bathroom plus freestanding bath. Access the enclosed decked veranda from either bedroom or the French doors from the lounge for a real sense of indoor-outdoor living. There’s a hot tub for pondering the night sky here, too.
There’s no shortage of walking paths both on site and in the surrounding countryside, so you don’t have to go far to explore the verdant landscape under your own steam. The local historic market town of Newtown is a good place to check out the independent shops, relaxing afterwards in a cafe or eatery. The Newtown Textile Museum gives a fascinating insight into the industrial past, housed in a former hand-loom weaving factory. But, do check its opening hours before visiting. Powis Castle and Garden (13 miles) is a National Trust property offering medieval history alongside Grade II-listed gardens, but has seasonal dog restrictions.
