Aberaeron Circular Walk

A convenient walk that’s a moderate route, the trail begins in the town centre and stretches out along the coast path. The Aberaeron Circular Walk isn’t too long at around 4 miles but offers a couple of hours of expedition against a scenic backdrop, for those willing to take on moderately challenging terrain.
Along the way, you'll cover a route with a varied landscape, as reflected in the changing elevations. Expect spectacular coastal views as you follow the path, and also note that the route includes eight gates, seven stiles and three bridges as part of the challenge; not one for young children.

Afon Aeron Walk

This easy walk is a delightful way to experience the natural beauty of the Ceredigion countryside; the River (Afon) Aeron trail follows the meandering River Aeron, offering picturesque views and opportunities for wildlife spotting.
The walk typically starts near Aberaeron and follows the river upstream. You'll encounter a mix of well-maintained paths, quiet country lanes, and some sections through lush meadows or woodlands. You’ll witness pretty scenery such as the river winding through rolling hills, with lush green fields and perhaps even some charming villages along the way. Also, keep an eye out for wildlife, such as birds like kingfishers and dippers.
Reward yourself with a cooling drink at one of the many waterside pubs along the route.

New Quay to Aberaeron

The route traverses diverse terrain, from coastal paths to wooded trails and, at times, beaches, so expect gentle inclines and descents, revealing breathtaking panoramas of rugged cliffs and hidden coves along the way.
The walk concludes back in Aberaeron, where you can reward yourselves with a treat in one of the colourful harbourside cafes.

Dog-friendly Aberaeron

Aberaeron welcomes furry friends with open arms; it’s the perfect place to spend a holiday with your beloved pup. Here you can enjoy dog-friendly beaches, walks and eateries alongside your canine companion.
Aberaeron South Beach allows dogs, with seasonal restrictions from May to September, and offers plenty of space for them to run and play along the shingle shoreline. Many of the coastal and river walks are also dog friendly, offering scenic routes for you and your dog to explore together.
You’ll also discover that several pubs and cafes in Aberaeron welcome dogs, including some with outdoor seating. The Harbourmaster – mentioned above – has a designated area outside that is dog friendly and very popular with visitors. Most of the family-friendly pubs offer a similar policy too.

You’ll also find a couple of farm shops offering similar produce as well as locally reared meats and seafood.
