This impressive semi-detached cottage on a working sheep farm surrounded by nature is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a tranquil rural retreat and an ideal base to explore Mid Wales, Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay. You can enjoy far-reaching views across Dyfi Valley to Cadair Idris and take scenic walks from the doorstep.

This attractive and spacious two-storey stone property invites you to relax in style. On the ground floor are eye-catching original features, including exposed stone walls and slate-tiled floors. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals effortlessly, and there is a spacious dining area where you can linger over dinner. When it is time to relax together, the lounge has a distinctly superior feel with leather sofas, a Smart TV and French doors overlooking the terrace and offering countryside views. While away the hours in conversation or head to the Games room for some competitive fun. Upstairs you’ll find a family bathroom and three beautiful bedrooms - two doubles and a family bedroom with a super-king-size and a single bed. Outside is a decking area with furniture and a play area for the children.

Whether you enjoy water sports at the beach or hiking in the hills, plenty of attractions are nearby to suit all tastes. Two sandy beaches, which are a must-visit for a day to enjoy water sports and building sandcastles, are Aberdyfi (18 miles) and Ynyslas (20 miles), both of which offer cafes and car parking. Fishing and golf are available within 10 miles, and mountain bikers can find several routes starting in Machynlleth (7 miles). Walkers should follow part of Glyndwr’s Way, which you can access from your doorstep or head to the family friendly Mawddach Trail (16 miles), which is suitable for all abilities, and you can cycle or walk and is suitable for buggies.

Rhyd-y-Gorlan is a lovely facility that has become home-from-home for us. Wonderful spacious cottage set in the most beautiful location.
