Vyrnwy the larger cottage of the two is a great spacious open layout, great for kids , tiled floors so no worries about spills, the photos don't really do the space justice. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The farms milk vending machine and the salted caramel milkshake mix were a real hit. Beauftiful countryside although walking directly from the farm can be tricky as very over grown footpaths by mid to late summer; better to start from Meifod village ( book of walks from the village shop). Great access to Bala and the welsh beaches ...great cycling country but hardly any cyclists!

Mr F,

We needed a quiet getaway to relax, and despite being on a working farm, it was lovely and quiet. Mr and Mrs Williams were always on hand and were able to provide us with everything we needed and were super friendly especially with the kids. The cottage was well equipped and spacious and we enjoyed our stay

Mrs R,

Conveniently located in Mid Wales, Bwthyn Efyrnwy is one of two semi detached holiday cottages set on a working dairy, beef and sheep farm. This means that there are many activities that can be enjoyed on site, including watching the daily milking from the viewing balcony, playing pool, darts etc in the games room or visiting the Kunekune pet pigs. With two rivers flowing through the land, it is also the perfect setting for fishing holidays in Wales.

Meifod (2 miles) has a shop, post office, tennis court and the Kings Head pub which also serves good food. Some of the other recommended places to eat locally include Gwern y Ciliau (6 miles), Tan House Inn, Llangyniew (3 miles) and The Lion, Llansantffraid (7 miles).

There’s a wide range of attractions and activities available within a short distance of the cottage. These include Powis Castle and Garden (10.5 miles), Llanfair Light Railway in Llanfair Caereinion (5 miles) and Lake Vyrnwy (11 miles) which offers walking, cycling, fishing and watersports of all kinds. Closer to the cottage itself there are a number of popular walks such as Glyndwr's Way or the Ann Griffiths walk (the Welsh Hymn Writer) and the ruins of Mathrafal Castle, once home of Llywelyn, the last Prince of Wales.

Oswestry’s Park Hall Farm Attraction is just 16 miles away, whilst Welshpool’s Canal and Museum and ‘Coed y Dinas’ Shopping Centre & Café (9 miles) are all well worth a visit. Welshpool also has supermarkets, plenty of restaurants and Flash Leisure Centre (Leisure Swimming pool).
