Property code: OC-195208

Nestled in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, this traditional dog friendly stone-built Welsh cottage is bursting with charming original features combined with extra special contemporary touches; this is the epitome of a cosy hideaway surrounded by the picturesque unspoilt scenery of Pembrokeshire.

No better remedy for wearing walking muscles is the inviting warmth of the wood burner in the rustic open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, complete with slate flooring, wooden beams and exposed stonework. Get creative with the local produce you’ve collected in the kitchen and rustle up a hearty feast to enjoy special family time around the farmhouse-style dining table. As day turns to dusk, hunker down on the comfy sofas and enjoy the ultimate family night around the TV. As bedtime draws near, head upstairs for a long soak in the bath in the family bathroom before retiring to either of the characterful bedrooms on this level, both partially enveloped by exposed stonework that calls back to the cottage’s rich history. On a fine summer’s evening, children and four-legged friends will love exploring the large, enclosed lawn as you dine alfresco on the patio with the wild surrounding scenery as your backdrop.

Astride the River Brenig in the shadow of the Cambrian Mountains, the ancient market town of Tregaron is under 3.5 miles away, a mecca for walking and mountain biking trails through open countryside with unspoilt rural views. Explore Cors Caron (4 miles), an incredible nature reserve spanning just over 2,000 acres, which fills the valley of the upper Teifi river between Tregaron and Pontrhydfendigaid. Keen walkers can join the Cwm Berwyn Walk 3 miles away or hike along the Ystwyth Cycle Trail beginning in Tregaron. Enjoy a day at the seaside along the coastlines of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth, which can be reached within 21 miles.

Lovely stay in this delightful cottage. Visited lots of places but for us Jane Beck blankets was a highlight. Devils Bridge, Aberystwyth, Cors Caron were perfect along with Strata Florida Abbey.

Lovely cottage, had everything we needed. Gorgeous forest walks up the hill. Grogwynion worth a walk along the river and woods. Ynyslas beach with dunes, Cei Bach beach, New Quay and Aberaeron harbour towns. Penbryn beach is good for families.

A cosy cottage, a great base for the sea. Hafod estate truly outstanding. Y Talbot - great food. A lovely farm shop and cafe called Riverside just this side of Tregaron - delicious. Enjoyed the swifts each day. Very tranquil village.
