With its stone exterior and pretty mullioned windows, this quintessential Welsh cottage offers comfortable and stylish accommodation on the pretty Llyn peninsula. It’s located on a working farm down a quiet country lane, just 2 miles from the sea at Porth Ysgo. It’s got space for up to four guests over two bedrooms, so this sweet property is ideal for a small family or two couples holidaying together. Two dogs are also welcome to join, While this 17th-century cottage has been updated to meet modern requirements, it retains many of its gorgeous original features, such as raw stone walls and lovely wooden ceiling beams throughout.

You’ll love the welcoming interior of this characterful cottage, starting with the cosy lounge, which is dripping with homely rustic charm, with its original inglenook fireplace, deep-set window and cosy sofas. Prepare meals in the contemporary oak kitchen before enjoying them in the adjoined farmhouse-style dining room, before retiring for the night to one of the bedrooms upstairs. Outside, the south-facing courtyard, complete with patio furniture, is ideal for enjoying a cake from your welcome pack while you soak up the views and country air. At the back, there’s a shared enclosed garden with swings and a trampoline – a definite magnet for children! Kids will also love the outside playroom, equipped with plenty of toys such as Lego and dolls.

During your stay, you may like to visit Plas yn Rhiw, a National Trust-owned 17th-century manor (2 miles). We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was next door and very welcoming. Great cake on arrival. The cottage was immaculate, cosy and warm with a log burner in the lounge. The kitchen was very well equipped. It is a beautiful area and there is a lot of information with regards to things to do and see and places to eat etc.
