  • Ideally located directly beside a gorgeous sandy beach
  • Reverse-level layout adds a quirky touch to this quaint property

Property code: OC-WAG406

Step straight out onto the beach from this traditional white cottage in the pretty village of Aberdaron. With a refreshingly simple and stylish coastal interior, this is an ideal getaway for couples or families looking for a seaside getaway on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula.

After a day on the beach, brush the sand off your toes and gather around the table in the kitchen/diner for a sociable evening. The hand-made, galley-style kitchen has all the facilities you’ll need for your holiday, including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The twin bedroom on the ground floor features a beamed ceiling and wooden bed frames, plus storage and a TV, and has use of a shower room. Head upstairs for the double bedroom, with ample storage and an en-suite bathroom. Also on this level - making the most of the spectacular sea views - is the lounge, a laid-back space with comfortable seating (including a sofa bed), a TV and a picture window. Outside, the cottage has its own shed, storing a wind break, deck chairs, sun loungers and buckets and spades.

From the cottage you can stroll along the coastal path in either direction, or into the village, where there are bars, a bakery, cafes and a fish and chip shop selling locally caught seafood. That said, the beach is likely to be your first destination, a mile-long strip of sand where you can surf, sail, windsurf and kayak. From Porth Meudwy, 1.5 miles, you can take a boat trip to tranquil Ynys Enlli - Bardsey Island in the summer months, spotting seals, porpoises and seabirds en route. The popular seaside town of Abersoch is just 10.5 miles, and Pwllheli is 16 miles.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin
  • 2 bathrooms - 1 en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC, 1 shower room with WC
  • Integrated electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer and tumble dryer
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • 2 TVs, 1 DVD players
  • Parking is available at the side of the cottage, marked on the wall. Please ensure access to the neighbours property by leaving space for their entrance between your parking spot and their wall. Park close to the wall, leaving enough room for cars to pass into their courtyard. If you have a larger vehicle or can’t provide ample space, please use the national trust car park in the village.
  • Shed with windbreak, deck chairs, sun loungers, buckets, spades
  • Beach, pub, and shop 0.1 miles
  • Sleeps 4+2 on sofa bed
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 1 dog allowed. Additional charges may apply

The location of this property is great and the view from the room window was amazing. The parking is challenging if the neighbours are parked up as well. if you are a confident driver youre probably ok but otherwise parking is tight and needs a far bit of manoeuvre . The property was ready for a deep clean with lots of little maintenance jobs neediRead moreng doing. The overflowing bins in the shed smelt bad in March. We felt this was not good value for money and wouldnt be staying here again. Hide

The cottage is in a great location, close to the beach and local amenities. We visited out of season, so only the Spar, pub, and hotel were open, but this suited us well and made for a peaceful stay. The view from the upstairs lounge was lovely and a real highlight. The wooden stairs have quite a high tread, so our chihuahua needed to be carriedRead more, and we had to keep a close eye on her. They would likely be difficult for larger dogs to climb and descend. We visited Abersoch several times and had a lovely meal at Zinc Caf Bar & Grill. Hells Mouth and Whistling Sands were great for walking, as were the coastal path and beach at Aberdaron. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at Glandon. The location was perfect for what we were looking for: great sea views, proximity to flat walks near the sea front, close to pubs/cafes/chippy and a fantastic bakery! We enjoyed a few days out to other local beaches and viewpoints. The locals were incredibly friendly. The actual cottage had every utensil/all eRead morequipment we needed. It was very clean and well presented. The water pressure and showers were great. All communication was clear and given in advance of our stay. Smooth arrival. We would recommend Glandon and Aberdaron to family and friends. Hide

We enjoyed the cottage greatly, especially the upstairs sitting room with its stunning window with panoramic views of the sea and beach. The dcor was delightful. There were a few practical items missing and we have informed the owners. A wonderful location for walking and exploring.
