Holiday accommodation in Abergavenny

Stay in our Abergavenny cottages and discover a market town located 6 miles from the English border just south of the Black Mountains, part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Offa's Dyke Path National Trail passes nearby and the Beacons Way, Marches Way and the Usk Valley Walk all pass through Abergavenny, making our Abergavenny holiday cottages perfect for walkers.

Abergavenny Castle is sited above the River Usk, a naturally defensible site that has probably been used as such since the Bronze Age. The early motte was built at the end of the 11th century, with control of the castle passed back and forth as the Welsh Marches changed hands between English and Welsh forces. In the late 19th century, the present square 'keep' building was constructed on top of the motte as a hunting lodge for the Marquess of Abergavenny. This now houses the Abergavenny Museum, with displays that tell the story of the town from prehistory through to the present day.

Alongside the castle, Abergavenny is also famous for its weekly and monthly markets, which include farmers markets, flea markets and craft fairs. The town has become a haven for foodies and hosts a major food festival every September.

Our holiday cottages in Abergavenny enable you to discover all of this and more, and we have a collection ranging from romantic retreats right up to accommodation for large groups. Find your perfect Welsh holiday home among the cottages above, or broaden your search by browsing all of our Monmouthshire cottages, Brecon Beacons cottages and South Wales cottages.
