Nannerth Fawr is the owners' 200 acre Organic working farm in the Wye Valley, 3.5 miles north of the market town of Rhayader, the 'gateway to the Elan Valley'. There are three cottages at this location - The Loft, which sleeps 2, The Granary, sleeping 4, and The Tollant, sleeping 7.
The owners hold a Green Tourism Business Award Gold, with all cottages having Biomass central heating, solar panels for hot water and PV panels for electricity. Guests are welcome on the farm, where there are animal and wildlife displays in barns, a tree-house for badger watching, bird hides, and you can watch lambing and help with bottle-feeding in April/May. The barns also house a shared laundry room with washing machine, drying racks and freezer. There is a shared games room, children's activity play area, bikes, cycle and nature trails, riverside walks and fishing on the River Wye. Falconry sessions on site (owls and hawks) can be booked prior to your stay, and a night or two of 'wild camping' can also be arranged.
In fact, there is so much to see and explore at Nannerth Fawr, you won't need to go anywhere else! But if you do fancy a day out, the forested mountains and reservoirs of the Elan Valley are within easy reach, along with Devil's Bridge and the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway, and the coast at Aberystwyth is about an hour away.
Dog-Stay Cabin Available - No pets are allowed in the cottages, but your four-legged friend is welcome to join you on your walks and explorations at Nannerth Fawr, accommodated in a the purpose-built canine-friendly cabin with dog run.
