Take a step back in time with this beautiful cottage. Situated on the border between Wales and England, you’ll be deep in an area rich in history but surrounded by modern luxuries to make your stay even more magical. This cottage would make a perfect base for a big family holiday, a friends’ trip or a couples’ getaway. Whichever you decide, we know you’ll find lots to love.

As you approach the property you’ll be awed by the countryside and impressed by the cottage’s garden. It’s enclosed with a fence and has a hot tub, outdoor eating area and a BBQ, which can be used in any order for a wonderful evening. When the sun has set and you’ve done a little stargazing, head inside to find a kitchen/diner for shared breakfasts. There’s also a lounge and a separate snug, both of which have wood burners, so if some people want to play games and others fancy some quiet time, there’s space for everyone. Finally, go to bed in one of the four airy bedrooms where you’ll wake feeling rested and ready for adventures.

Montgomeryshire is well known for its beautiful walks, and there are lots of places to explore. If you want to stretch more legs, you can also see the countryside on horseback from Walcot Stables, 11 miles from the cottage. If you’d prefer to watch knights in shining armour, take a trip to the town of Montgomery for the castle, which has regular displays and medieval fairs. It’s 4.5 miles away and the town also has some nice pubs and little shops. Complete your historic trip with a hike to Mitchell’s Fold Bronze Age Stone Circle and learn about the local legends.

Fantastic property of high quality throughout. Having access to the Marrington Estate grounds was amazing as you felt that you were in a magical world all of your own and the different walking routes meant that you could do lots of different circuits of varying lengths. Then back to the lovely property for a dip in the hot tub. One of our sons brouRead moreght their dog and the garden was very secure and the entrance room was a perfect place for their crate with stone floors. This area was also great for coming in with muddy boots and wet coats and leaving them there out of the way. Already looking at when we can go again. Hide
