Embrace a little countryside bliss at this lovely stone cottage in a complex of properties just outside the market town of Cardigan. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s perfect for small families or groups of friends dreaming of a luxurious break in West Wales together. During the day, head off to Ceibwr Bay to kayak through coves and hopefully spot seals and dolphins. In the evening, come home to the cottage’s lovely garden, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax with your loved ones while you soak up the distant sea views.
Park in your private spot (there’s room for two cars) and step inside this characterful stone cottage. You’ll be greeted by an inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a charming wood burner. Slip onto the sofa to soak up the relaxed ambience, before you head to the traditional kitchen area to whip up some dinner. Get everyone together to eat at the wooden table, or head out onto the patio in the large enclosed garden to dine al fresco. After dinner, take advantage of the complimentary sauna or the hot tub (booking required) or head back to lounge to unwind in the glow of the wood burner. At the end of the day, there’s a lovely double bedroom and a handy twin to choose from. Completing the layout is a shower room. In the morning, kick off your day with a yoga class (charges apply).
Grab your surf board and set off to Poppit Sands Beach (4 miles), which is also a popular spot for kite-surfers. Alternatively, discover the rich history of St Dogmaels Abbey (4 miles), which was founded around 1115 on the site of an earlier 6th-century Celtic monastery.
